Which Way Is Splish Splash Mountian? UPDATE 11-3 July AKV TR

I have not forgotten about you! I will get to replies and another update real soon! I have surgery today so I just wanted to check in before that and let you know that an update is coming! I'll see you on the other side!

And Also a HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my furbaby Scutter who turns 6 today!

I hope it all went smoothly!!

Glad to see pics of you finally being able to enjoy your vacation with no freakouts for awhile.

The pic of you and your bf on the bridge turned out awesome!

Can't wait to hear how your ADR in Canada turned out:goodvibes

It was so nice to finally relax and have fun. Looking back on everything we really did have a grea vacation but you just can't ignore some of the stuff that happened!

I didn't like that picture at first, i think because its so dark but with a little photoshopping i think it will be really nice!

Canada is our must do meal!

Good to hear that you had a fun time walking around the world!

Good choice of food and drinks, BTW! ;)

Haha we are good at eating and drinking. Boyfriend always says he loves that i am not embarasssed to eat in front of him and that i make it no secret how much i love food!

:rotfl: good job on keeping Gingerbread Mickey safe! ;)

I'm so happy it was a fun afternoon with just a few minor quibbles!

It was a really nice afternoon, looking back on it. Also the weather was really nice that day, not too brutally hot, not raining.

I always have to get my gingerbread Mickey...he ended up being my breakfast one morning in the trip!

World Showcase is my favorite so I could picture everything you wrote about!

I can't believe you got wet on the Maelstrom last time. :confused3 I've never gotten more than a drop or two.

WS is one of my favorites too, except his family likes to just walk through and not stop which annoys the hell out of me! I like to stop and look around, eat, drink, take pictures, and shop!

Trust me, I was shocked when I got wet on this last year. I completly 100% blame my boyfriend. Since he's a bigger guy, if you sit next to him you get wet, and we were in the front row! I actually asked him while we were in line if I could not sit next to him this year. He got offended! At least this year I did not get wet but I spent the whole ride anticiapting I would!

Yay! You're back in business! Glad to hear from you again, and really glad to see some fun times

Yes I'm back! I know updates are slow but they are coming!

What shop in Germany carries the gingerbread Mickey man? That looks delicious! I'm glad you were finally having a good time, and I hope it stayed that way for at least a while

The shop that sells all the Gingerbread Mickey's in germany is the same one that sells all the gummy stuff. I can't think of the exact location, I think I just have a homing signal for these thinks I just kind of 'go there'. But i know its where you can get all the gummies and such. Also I've seen them at many other places in the World as well, like the main street bakery and the HS bakery

Thinking of you:hug:

Thank you my dear!

I cannot remember if I have commented on your TR yet...but I have been reading along! :goodvibes I typically do not go to WDW with groups larger than me and say 2 other people :rotfl: because it always ends up a nightmare!! But I am glad to see your next post will be very happy :thumbsup2

Well welcome! Yes large groups at WDW are a pain! Our next trip will be just me and boyfriend!

I hope it all went smoothly!!

Thank you! everything went fine, just resting up for the next few days and then its back to work :sad2:

Enjoying your TR! You have a nice writing style.

Must be hard to tour the parks in large groups like that. Wouldn't it be easier to just go your own way and meet up for a meal sometimes? :confused3 Or did your BF"s parents want you to stay with them the whole time?

Time for an update me thinks. Just have to share some good news first. I had surgery on Monday to remove some suspicious breast lumps (a couple on each side) and the biopsy results came back all clear! What a relief! Now it's just the recovery part I have to deal with, had to leave work early today cause I was in too much pain!

So when we last left off we were having a grand ol time drinking our way through epcot with minimal freak outs (amazing!). We had just parted ways with our party and we were on our way to Canada for a nice just the two of us dinner. We had some time to kill so decided to do some shopping. We had bought a few Vinylmations last year (as graphic design students they really appealed to us) and I had decided I wanted to get a Vinylmation JR, which are the keychain ones. I really had just wanted just one but...well you will see how that goes!

We went to the two stores right before you enter world showcase, can't remember the name but we spent a fair amount of time in these stores this trip. I ended up buying one Vinylmation JR out of series 2 and got Peter Pan

peterpan.jpg

And also bought a pen for one of my managers. After that we were still a bit early but decided to head over to Canada because it was HOT! I distinctly remember it being brutal at this point and alcohol plus heat does not mix well for me!

(Side Note, I wrote some of this down while at work, and had it on e a piece of paper next to me while I type..my kitten decided that this piece of paper would make an excellent bed!)

Anyways, we just didn't want to walk around anymore. We got to Canada and checked in and they offered us some ice water which we happily accepted. I'm pretty sure we were right on the cusp of dinner service cause when I asked to use the bathroom and went into the dining room it was empty!

Our reservation was for 4 oclock and a little before then all the servers came into the waiting area welcoming us and singing Oh Canada. Right after that we were seated.

Our sever was Barry (I mixed up names with our server at Sanaa!) and we had a fantastic meal! We made sure Barry knew we were regulars and we knew just what we wanted and he was spectacular! Brought Boyfriend extra sourdough bread because it's his favorite! I started out with the Cheddar Cheese soup and Barry gave us the recipe because I told him how much I love it! This was awesome and I have yet to make it! I figured this was a new thing since they did not offer it last year and did not offer it when we went later that week? I'm not sure though.

We each got the mushroom filet and it was spectacular (as always). A PSA for anyone who has not eaten here but is thinking about it, when they say medium rare they mean RARE. They know how to properly cook the meat and if you don't like it bloody, don't ask for it rare! (The person next to us obviously didn't realize this!)

I had planned on getting a beer with my meal but I think the heat made me decide against this and I'm glad I did. We were both too stuffed for desert (this will be a theme) so decided to get it to go. Last year I got the maple creme brule and hated it so I decided on the chocolate moose this time and Boyfriend got the chocolate cake.

Our steak

And deserts

We thourghly enjoyed our meal here, so much so that we had no problem going back later in the week. I think this is one we will never skip we love it too much. It's also special for us since it is where we had our one year anniversary dinner. I see some people give mixed reviews of Canada, I think because of the hype it gets. We give it hype for our own specific reasons. We expect the same thing everytime, which is a good steak and excellent service and we always get it.

We decided to head out of the park with our deserts and i mentioned I wanted to do Spaceship Earth. I love Spaceship Earth and for some reason i felt like if we didn't do it that moment we would not have a chance even tho we were coming back to Epcot a couple times. it's a good thing we decided to do it then! i'm so glad we did we had so much fun on this ride just the two of us! We love to spot the hidden Mickeys! Some pictures from the ride

After that we decided to head back to the hotel. I really needed a nap and Boyfriend really wanted to use the pool. He headed down and I laid down to try to sleep and not 10 minutes later our phone rang. It was dining services and they wanted to bring something up for us, to which i said sure!

A couple of minutes later a very nice man arrived with this:

IMG_0550.jpg

Zebra Domes for our anniversary! I was very excited and thanked him and put it in the fridge till Boyfriend came back.

I tried to continue my nap but I was having very bad anxiety issues and could not fall asleep so instead laid out on the balcony and watched the giraffes for awhile. I really miss those guys!

Boyfriend came back to get ready and I explained to him that I was having some anxiety issues and he tried to calm me down but nothing was really working. I decided to just get dressed and hope to feel better when we got to the parks!

Ok i'm cutting it here and will continue in another post

I'm SO glad the reports on the lumps came back CLEAN! Whew!!!!! I hope your recovery goes smoothly.

Great update!! It sounds like a relaxing time with your DBF, just enjoying it all together. We have eaten at LeCellier once and we really enjoyed it as well! Yum!!! Did you hear dinner there is now going to be 2 Table Credits? Lunch will still be 1 in 2011.

I can't wait to ride SE and make silly faces on it in 20 days!!! :yay:

Wonderful news!! So glad your biopsy came back negative  Sounds like a really fun day at Epcot - I love SE (never can get my pic to turn out fun though).

Glad to hear your results are clear.

What a trip report! I think I would have strangled someone by this point! That whole move as a herd thing makes me crazy. You are a saint!

So happy to hear that the results of your biopsy were all clear and I hope you are feeling better today.

Sounds like a wonderful dinner at Le Cellier! So cool that you were there for "opening" and you got to hear them sing "Oh Canada!" I would have LOVED that! I got really into that song during the Olympics this year! Hehe!

Also very glad you got to ride SE. That is one of my all-time favorites, although I really preferred the Jeremy Irons narration but....que sera, sera!!

Too bad you weren't feeling well that evening. Hope it got better!

Alright I'm all caught up..finally. I hope you are feeling okay and I'm glad your surgery went well. I have lots to comment on:

I love your purse it is so cute!! I would love one..maybe someday

What app did you use? We have been trying to decide what to buy.

Thanks for not letting Jameson get you down I love food pics, and think you can build great relationships with pple online :)

I'm loving your report so far. I have to agree with the others tho, If I were you I would have went my own way with dbf. Because it is YOUR vacation too, but it was nice of them to pay for your room. :) Brian’s mom has talked about vacationing together and I told her if we ever did. I would want my own room, and I will not rent a house together lol. I love her don't get me wrong but I know my personality and know if I spent an entire vacation with anyone other than DH my patience likely couldn’t handle it. On vacation I like to be a little selfish and do everything I enjoy.

Looking forward to updates :)

So happy to read that your biopsy was clear :thumbsup2

I am not too keen on mushrooms, but that steak looked fantastic :goodvibes

Its weird to say, but comforting to hear that others have this random anxiety in situations such as disney vacation, I very much felt this way last year when I took my family down (which I normally know better than to do lol)

Mmmmm Le Cellier.....yummy! Now tell me, which did you prefer, the mousse or chocolate cake. We always gets the cake and split it, but I would love to try something different:rolleyes1

Thank you! I'm so glad everything came back ok, I wasn't too worried but you never know!

I can't beliebe Le Cellier is going to be 2 credits! I mean its good, but its not that good! We did Narcossee's this time around as well, which is two credits, and found the food to be pretty much on par. What we thought you were paying extra for is the atmosphere and location! I honestly don't think Canada is worth two credits! Good to know thought, you can never start planning too early, and I already have a restraunt wish list for 2012!

Have you taken Henry on SE yet? I can't remember from your TR's. It was one of my favorites when I was a kid too. My grandparents went to Epcot the year it opened and remember when Spaceship Earth was constructed! Ahh to be so young!

Thank you! The funny faces was pure spure of the moment. We were coming up to the camera and I just turned to DBF and said "Make a funny face!" We were not planing on it haha!

Glad to hear your results are clear.

What a trip report! I think I would have strangled someone by this point! That whole move as a herd thing makes me crazy. You are a saint!

Thank you very much! Yes trust me I wanted to strangle someone, and it's only the second day! I told DBF that everyone was saying I have so much patience and he was like, wow wait till they hear the rest! :rotfl: At least we can look back on it now and laugh...sort of! The stress catches up with me real soon though, and not in a good way!

Thank you! Feeling a little bit better today, but decided to be safe and cancel classes for tomorrow. Rather get one more day in and cancel one class than push it and have to cancel 6 classes on sunday! Thank god for awesome students!

It was really cool to hear them sing the song, it really gave you a sense of how proud they are to be there which I think is just awesome!

I honestly don't remember the ride before the 'reboot'. I mean i do, but I don't you know? I do remember getting stuck on it every time! Not much has changed haha!

Welcome! Thanks for coming on over!

I was in love with that purse from the moment I saw it! I convinced another lady to buy it and a girl that worked over at Universal was jealous of it too!

I will have to double check with Boyfriend but I'm pretty sure the app he got was free and I cannot remember the name...I will check and find out for you though!

You can build awesome relationships online, and I will continue to take pictures of my food (he thought it was just a vacation thing..haha!) Jameson is just...Jameson. I figure I'm stuck with him and the family so i might as well get used to them!

I definatly think I was in a tough situation and the worst part is, before going down I KNEW this would happen. Yes it was really nice of them to pay for the hotel, but we didn't even have the option not to. And i paid for EVERYTHING else. It was my vacation too, but it wasn't. Given the choice again, I'd go in expecting way lesss. That is why we are trying to plan another trip in 2012 just the two of us, it was just really stressful trying to not come off as selfish and wanting to shoot someone in the process

So happy to read that your biopsy was clear :thumbsup2

Thank you!

i used to HATE mushrooms and now they are one of my favorite foods! The sauce that comes on it is a white truffle sauce but really most everything on their menu is fantastic. Jess got the coffee rubbed steak one night and I had a bite, also delicious!

I'm quite bad with anxiety and it was just really getting to me then. probably because i wanted a nap so bad! When i really need to sleep, i get anxiety!

Mmmmm Le Cellier.....yummy! Now tell me, which did you prefer, the mousse or chocolate cake. We always gets the cake and split it, but I would love to try something different:rolleyes1

Haha funny you ask! We actually left those deserts in there all week and on the last night after packing my suitcase, finding a hole in it, and wheeling all the way down stairs and all the way back up i was so depressed I sat in bed and ate all the chocolate cake while DBF was in the shower! Didn't regret that one bit! The next morning I ate the chocolate mouse for breakfast!

The verdict? The moose was very good, but I think would have been better the day of. The cake...well i want the recipe because I think it is so good anytime. (DBF was mad I ate ALL of it. All i said was 'Hole in suitcase, leaving disney tomorrow' I think he got the message!! )

Must be hard to tour the parks in large groups like that. Wouldn't it be easier to just go your own way and meet up for a meal sometimes? :confused3 Or did your BF"s parents want you to stay with them the whole time?

Thank you very much! Maybe being a former English student has something to do with that!

You know it was the fact that yes it was a large group but it was more a medium sizzed group. Last year there were 18 of us and it was great! We went off and did our own thing, met up for meals, no issue there! This year was a bit different. They wanted us to stick around but apparently wanted us to be miserable the whole time? I think they were just clueless!

I know, I agree! I think LeCellier is wonderful, but 2 credits?!?! Um...no. That's like saying it's worth around $60 a plate...

Yep! We have taken Henry on SE. The first time it picked Joe and Henry's faces and the second time it picked mine and Henry's - even though he's in our laps! It's really random and always hilarious!

Great update!

Your meal at Le Cellier looks really good, one I want to try someday but it will be for lunch since I will not use it as a 2 credit restaurant on the dining plan.

How nice that they sent up the zebra domes for your anniversary....gotta luv disney magic:goodvibes

I have just now decided that we are buttering up to Boyfriend's crazy Aunt who lives in Florida. Like, she is going to be our new favorite person. I might just have to get her e-mail address so we can send her regular e-mails to see how she's doing. The reason? Crazy Aunt is a Disney emplyee of 20 years. Ok I'm not proud of it but it's not like she doesn't already let us use her discount! She get's us our park tickets on discount, and any souvies we buy but what i'm inching towards her is HOTEL! It was mentioned last time when we had dinner with her that she get's a friend's and family discount on hotels. She mentioned this directly to me and DBF when we mentioned we were planning another trip just the two of us. It was then mentioned again today while Mr. N and DBF were at AAA. DBF mentioned the AAA discount. Mr. N said "Well any discounts you need Aunt M will get for you."

So yup, we are going to be super nice to her from now on. Not that we weren't before! i've always gone out of my way to talk to her and get her a christmas present when everyone else thinks shes crazy. But I've just done the numbers on that discount. And let's just say it would make that 2012 trip a much bigger reality if we could use it!

Seriously don't judge me...I have a Disney addiction! :rotfl:

Ok on with the trip report. I'm technically not allowed to start planning the 2012 trip till 8 months out. So I have to do it secretly over here on the DIS.

So when we last left off i was having some anxiety and we were planning on going to Magic Kingdom for EMH. I was excited for some reasons.

1) I've never done EMH! i was so excited to be at MK all night! For an insomniac this was amazing!

2) Jess and I had decided to wear our shirts that I had made us! I designed a shirt for us, made one blue and one pink and we were wearing them tonight!

3) I was going to see fireworks! And The Parade! :woohoo: Look at that excitement...take it all in....

So these were the shirts i made

front

and back

IMG_0369.jpg

I also called Jess to remind her to bring her pins as we would trade tonight. We got down to Mr. and Mrs. N's room where we all supposed to meet. No one was ready. I love being rushed when no one else is ready. Apparently the plan was to head to MK to see the firework's because The Sage's wanted to see them (now I don't know if the Sage's wanted to see them, or the Nieman's wanted the Sage's to see them but whatever I digress.) And then stya for rxtra magic hours. Good plan in theory.

Well we make our way to the park and here well it all falls to **** . We left the hotel at 8:30 which means we got to Magic Kingdom just in time for the PARADE!

Normal people would say, stop, regroup, ask what we wanted to do, but no, we just had to keep walking, and suddenly everyone was following me! What?! When did this happen! Why am I suddenly the leader?! So People are STOPPED on main street sidewalks, no one is moving, not a CM in sight and we are blindly just pushing our way through the crowd having no idea where we are going. It was awful!

We finally get through the big crowd but everyone keeps walking toward tomorrowland. At this point I'm like what the heck, i thought they wanted to watch the fireworks. No one knows. I hear Mrs. N say something about riding Space Mountian and I laugh to myself because that wait time is going to be ridiculous! I fall back a little but and Karen kind of comes up to me and says "I don't understand, I thought we were going to see the fireworks" I just shook my head and said "I don't know, I just don't know."

Honestly this was utter chaos. The Park was CROWDED! AS IT SHOULD BE! You got there in the middle of a parade! So we get to Space Mountian and its a 120 minute wait. Do you think we went on it? So at the point Mr. N has had enough and he's going home. (Can you blame him). I decided I need to pee and I tell my boyfriend i'll meet up with him whereever but maybe you should suggest finding a place to WATCH THE FIREWORKS!!!

Finally we found everyone and we were next to Dumbo for the fireworks. I did not like this location at all! I felt like I was watching a tennis match I had to keep looking back and forth and it was giving me lots of anxiety, since fireworks scare me anyways. The fireworks were RIGHT THERE! I kept jumping like a bomb was going off. I couldn't follow the stroy at all either! Here are some shots of the castle all lit up tho

IMG_0538.jpg

IMG_0540.jpg

And creepy dumbo

IMG_0542.jpg

So far our time at MK had been quite hectic, so we decided to calm down with some ghosts. Mrs N had thought every ride would be walk on but she didnt understand the park was open for another 2 hours! :sad2:

We did the Haunted Mansion and then everyone else went home and we were left with Jameson and Jess who already were in a foul mood and didn't seem like they wanted to stay...what will happen? Stay tuned to find out

COMING SOON: 2 Meltdowns for the night, I freak out so bad I send Jameson and Jess home, and we enjoy one of the best nights of cour trip!

Honestly, that little spot by Dumbo is one of my FAVORITE places to watch the fireworks from. When I was a CM, if I was working in Fantasyland, my friends and I would meet up by Dumbo to watch the fireworks together. Our manager didn't care :lmao: It wasn't like we could do our jobs then anyway, as we were custodial and it was too dark to do anything :)

I'm sorry MK was so hectic :( I hope it gets better, even though I'm sure it won't :grouphug:
