I am sure I missed this somewhere in my research but for anyone else doing research, I wanted to give a quick note on our experience. We rented a wheelchair not a scooter. Do NOT get anything other than a standard size wheelchair unless absolutely necessary!
I rented from Scooterbug since we were driving and had no clue what time we would arrive, etc... so needed to use the bell services option.
Anyway, we rented the larger wheelchair as I thought it would be more comfortable for my husband because he is close to the weight limit for the standard. Don't do that unless absolutely necessary! They don't fit on the busses nor the rides properly.
I did call them to get it exchanged and that was such a *huge* hassle because you have to cancel the current reservation and create a new one but we still needed to use the wheelchair during the earliest time they could swap out. The person I spoke to on the phone was nice about it and all just ended up a whole big mess that could have been avoided if I had just rented a standard size one in the first place.
The advice I did read about getting some workout fingerless gloves was very helpful and I did do that, so I definitely recommend doing that.
