Which rides can't you ride

Any of the coasters or thrill rides
Even Star Tours took me by surprise- I didn't realize it would be so rough- I think I turned green.

If it jerks you, if it involves heights, or roller coasters, I can't ride it.

I definitely can't ride the Teacups. All that spinning makes me so sick. I have ridden MS, but it's not my favorite ride. I guess because you can't see how much you are spinning I was able to ride MS without throwing up! I do feel a little "funny", sort of loopy (more than my usual loopiness!) afterwards though. :rotfl:

I love RnR and ToT, but I don't want to see WDW turn their backs on tradition and change too much. I want their rides to remain family friendly, rides that I can take my mom on as well as my teenage son.

I don't want Disney to go in the mega-thrills direction, but I agree that there's only so much IASM or POC that you can take before it gets a little dull.

I think the right strategy for Disney--which is actually what they have been doing thus far--it to appeal to people's senses and wonder without having to whip people's bodies around at 160 mph. Mickey's Philharmagic and Soarin' are amazing attractions, not because you feel like your organs are going to explode from high speed, but because they appeal to your senses.

That being said, I'm sure they will continue to also build up their "thrill rides" sector to keep the parks mainstream.

But I'm ok with that... nobody can create atmosphere quite like Disney.

BTW, the one ride I "can't" ride (and I use the word "can't" loosely--basically, I'm terrified!) is TOT. :teeth:

I will ride it because my DH and DD love it, but I really don't like RNR. I like coasters, but that one is just too rough. I have only ridden MS once and loved it, DD did not, DH hasn't had the opportunity to ride it yet (last trip was girls only) so I look forward to doing that with him on next trip.

I think Disney has to keep up with SOME thrill rides, but I, too, think they need to stick w/ family-friendly rides. Maybe a mixture of a little thrill with more "thrill for the senses" type stuff.

With that said, I am too chicken to ride:

RnR
Mission: Space
Splash Mountain
Expedition Everest (I guess)

I rode ToT and cried the WHOLE time...I hated it!!!

There hasn't been a ride invented on the planet that I can't ride. I have never been nauseated by rides and I've never thrown up on a ride. I am a roller coaster, montion simulator, thrill ride, kiddie ride junkie. I feel sooooo bad for all of you that aren't able to enjoy thrill rides:sad: :( My 9yr old DD is also an adrenaline junkie. Her first roller coaster was Space Mountain and that's all it took. She is looking very forward to riding RnR on our upcoming vacation.

Mission Space just sounds awful to me and I have no desire to ride it. I have read too many stories of people getting  for me to even consider it. I keep thinking that I don't want to ruin my day.

Also, I have no problem with teacups, but I can't bear to ride Astro Orbiter. I feel like I am falling out or something.

Mission Space  :faint:
Tower of Terror - can you say :scared: :scared1:
Astro Orbiter, Tea Cups, Primevil Whirl, Body Wars, Star Tours or any other similation ride - I will most certainly get sick.

I agree, I have no problem riding rides but I'm to much of a chicken. I will certainly go on the Astro Orbiter, and Tea cups, but all the rest I get a migrane on.

i will never go on DINOSAUR again. it scared me so much i thought i was gonna lose my voice.

Body Wars...When it first opened I wanted to ride it soooo bad and I got soooo sick  Brings back bad memories. I can ride Star tours and Mission Space, just keep me far away from Body Wars.

I never went on DINOSAUR when I was there, I suppose that was a good thing? Lol.

Dinosaur, I forgot that one! I love it but it is super scary! I don't want to give it away for those that haven't done it but within the first min or so my first thought was "is this really a disney ride"? I was really surprised. My 8 yr old came off crying. And DH didn't get to go because we had to do child swap and he didn't want to go alone.

The only one I'm afraid of is ToT -- but if DS9 makes me go this year, I suspect I'll survive. I WAS afraid of RnR, but finally got the courage to try it and now I love it!

I don't really like "thrill" rides as such though, there are about a dozen at our local amusement park I won't go on. If WDW wants to keep us baby boomers coming as we age, they'd better come up with some newer "non-thrill" rides too, like PhilharMagic and Soarin'. If their bean-counters are on the ball, they will realize that there is more money to be made from aging baby boomers than from teens.

Anybody can have attractions that make you barf. Good amusement parks have ones that make you laugh. Only Disney has ones that can make you cry. (http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=960613 ) They need to pay attention to all three.
