Ok--for two adults with no kids--which is your choice of resort?
We are looking at the moderate range....I would like something with nice rooms, views, and some quiet. Pools, etc are not important to us. We will have our own rental car, and currently have ressies at Shades of Green, but are considering switching when the July 5 codes come out....we are florida residents.\
We plan on being in the room for mornings, sleeping, and some breaks, but not just a ton. I am paying $95 a night at Shades (total price) and if I can beat that with a moderate, we might consider it. Let me know your favorites and why...

It is our second anniversary.

Thanks guys!

CSR!! Nice atmosphere, beautiful landscaping, romantic courtyards and fountains. Check out pics on my website below.

Our favorite moderate is Port Orleans Riverside. DH and I have stayed there many times. The landscaping is beautiful. You can choose between the Magnolia Bend area (mansions) or the Alligator Bayou. There are 5 pools, I think. There is a full service restaurant and a food court. There is a great walking/running path around the resort. If you want to go to DD you can take the boat. HTH

If you are looking for a moderate, I would go with POFQ and get a river view.

If you can move up a level I would go with the WL.

CBR. Haven't been there in years but hear it's only gotten better. It is very laid back and relaxing. It's spread out and low key with hammocks along a sandy beach.

I'll be there with my DW and 2 teenaged daughters. But depending on when you're going I don't know that you can beat your rate unless you go to a value.

Has anyone used a code on a moderate in July lately? What kind of savings can you get?

:teeth: Well now, has that made your decision any easier? :teeth: You asked, which moderate, and got a recommendation for all 4!!!

POR - I was impressed with the tranquility of the place. Sure the big pool on the island and the food court are noisy, but the hotel rooms and surroundings were very quiet. Even the small pools between the buildings were quiet. Since you are driving, parking is very convienent (at least on the mansion side). I was there the week of Easter, and there was tons of parking.

I didn't notice much palm tree theming, theming, but the heavy shade is different from the tropical theming of the other resorts. Beautiful flowering shrubs and walking paths along the river.

Finally, if downtown disney is on your itinerary, then POR and POFQ have a free boat shuttle that docks by Rainforest Cafe. Its very relaxing, and the boat captains give a brief tour of the river and the grounds surrounding the river.

Horse drawn carriage ride, bike rentals, Boatwrights. I think POR has a lot to offer to adults travelling with no kids.

The minuses: Bus transportation, rooms aren't refurbished like POFQ, check-in was crowded when we got there at 12:30.

I would choose CBR for theme, landscaping and quiet pools in each island.

We stayed at POFQ and that was nice because it wasn't so big and spread out, yet the atmosphere was very relaxing and plesant. POR I think would also be a great choice. The grounds are beautiful!

Ok, so you people like ALL of the moderates!

What about solely on rooms?
We aren't really pool people, but are hot tub people, so that would be a plus.

Which has the nicest rooms? By that I mean theming, decor, etc.

If you want to see photos of the resort rooms and ground, check out this site:

The different resorts are listed in the left-hand column. Pick a resort and click on "photos"

The other thing I would factor into my decision is the location of the resort. I'd pick the resort closest to the park I where I planned on spending the most time: MK~stick w/ Shades of Green; AK~CS; MGM/Epcot~CBR; DTD~POR/FQ

Happy planning!

Sue

I've stayed at POFQ, POR and CBR. The one I thought was the most beautiful was POFQ. BUT! DH and I went resort-hopping and ended up at CSR and we were absolutely taken with it. It's BEAUTIFUL. The pool alone is worth it. Plus, although some people don't like the Pepper Market, I thought it was wonderfu and unique and had a really good food selection.

SO I would say your choice is between POFQ and CSR. POFQ was just redone, so the newness of that may appeal to you as well.

Check out Allears.net....it's a great resource.
