After reading many discussions on having the CR remodeled and being part of DVC I was wondering what other resorts many wished could be convereted for DVC as well. We would like to see AK or the GF convereted.

AKL and Poly would be my top existing resort choices.

Voted for the Contemporary simply because of the short walk to Magic Kingdom.

I voted for contemporary, but what I would really like is if they could add more villas at the Lodge, but only 3 bedroom "Cottages" along the like, kind of in line withthe beach cottages!!! How cool would that be!

Just got "back" from the cruise line forum, people there are asking for more time at Castaway Cay and that Disney should develop more of the island. Can that be added to the poll? I think I would change my vote!

I voted the "Poly". We stayed there last trip and love the location...I would definately buy a whole bundle of points there, that's for sure.

I rather like this idea -- something totally different than even Vero Beach!

I would like to see just one resort on the monorail system

We've never been on the cruise...but it sounds like a neat idea to be able to cruise to the Island, stay at your DVC villa for a while...and then cruise back!

Why do you want to recycle an existing (older) hotel with hotel size rooms, when you can have a new resort with DVC size units?

Our vote would be for the Poly or AKL. I also really like the idea of cottages at VWL on the lake. What an excellent idea!!!!

There is no way to "convert" a resort or part of it to DVC in the sense of remodeling. If you don't have room for more buildings, you'd have to demolish something and rebuild DVC units in its place.

Having said that I vote for the Polynesian. Maybe tear down Tuvalu and/or Fiji, and remove/relocate the Luau Cove, and there'd be plenty of room for a Polynesian Villas complex.

I voted Poly with AK being a very close 2nd. I was very surprised though to see Poly at the top of the list.

I voted for AKL just because we had so much fun just watching the animals from our balcony there....something you can't do from any of the other DVC resorts (rabbits and armadillos at VWL don't count !)

I voted for the AKL to have a DVC section. We are using 90 points to stay 3 nights there in a savannah room. Ouch! We are using this many points because our recent add-on had reservation points that had to be used. Too many points, so just a one time use for us.

Second, a new DVC resort anywhere on the monorail would be fantastic!

I'm still holding out hope for another offsite resort... Maybe once Phase II gets really underway in 5-10 years, we'll hear about plans for one... :D

Here's where I'd like to see an offsite property...
  • West Coast, near DL
  • Rocky Mountains, for skiing and hiking.. Maybe Colorado or Montana
  • New England
  • Castaway Cay.. This keeps coming up... I know this is near to logisticly impossible, but one can still hope..

We did that with an add-on as well. But we are also staying at AKL this August on points because the points cost us less than the AP rates for concierge service ealier this year when we booked -- a function of less favorable AP codes this year.
