Me and my family are going on our 4th trip to disney either the end of 2020 or beginning of 2021 and we are split on what moderate to pick. It’s between riverside which is the only one we havent been to, and Caribbean. We went to caribbean before but that was back in 2002!

I’ve stayed at POR riverside several times, mansions mostly but alligator bayou last time. Love the grounds and walkways, great food court, big main pool and several smaller ones, and love the boat ride to Disney Springs. I always say next time I want to try a different resort but never do, we love riverside.

The boat ride we loved from french quarter so that would be a huge factor in picking riverside!

Actually I’d choose Coronado Springs first, then Port Orleans Riverside, then Port Orleans French Quarter, then lastly Caribbean Beach.
Riverside and Caribbean are the ones we’re looking at mainly because we haven’t been to riverside and Caribbean would be nostalgic with still some new offerings

I like POR, but nothing wrong with Carribbean, I would stay at either.

The Coronado is being refurbished and it looks great, we stayed there in Feb. I would pick that first.

Have you looked at the Resorts forum yet? There are extensive threads for each resort, along with individual questions and most likrly threads comparing two or three resorts.

We used to always stay at POR (Dixie Landing) until we bought DVC. Love that place. Bought OKW because it has the boat and the nice homey feeling like POR

We stayed at the Caribbean a Looooooog time ago. And it was great, with the small beach area for our young kids.

But I totally like Port Orleans now. Both parts - Riverside and French Quarter. But, maybe, Riverside more.

Go for POR so you can say you've tried all the moderates. We enjoyed it. The restaurant there - Boatwright's - was really quite good - we weren't expecting to love it as much as we did.

Boatwright’s was quite a surprise. We were expecting to be underwhelmed, but we ended up pleasantly satisfied. So much so that we’re going back in November. We started out with drinks at Scat Cat’s in the French Quarter, then took the bus to Riverside for dinner. Then had a night cap at the River Roost before taking a bus to Disney Springs, then transferring to a Beach Club bus. It was a fabulous evening!

Riverside, but honestly, I'd be very happy with both, as long as I booked a preferred room.
