Which Baggallini??

Hey guys, I have a red Baggellini and used it last May. It got wet several times and never bled. I love my Baggellini! I am taking it again in August, and will be buying another for my husband to carry (a different one). I can't imagine carrying a hot back pack in August.

Just can't go wrong with this bag IMHO.

I have a microfiber large wallet bagg and I hate it. None of my stuff fits comfortably in the bag, the bag itself is heavy even when empty, the fabric is stiff, it tilts forward when I carry it, and the strap rubs on my neck. I'm sorry I ever bought it. I can't comment on either of the nylon fabrics or any of the other bags though. I have thought about trying a messenger bagg in nylon since it's so popular but it seems so big to me as I don't like to carry a lot of stuff. I suppose I wouldn't have to stuff it full!

Which fabric do you have?

Also, the weight caused the buckle not to stay in place, causing the strap to become too long.
This is one of my problems with the bagellini. I bought two ~ red for DD and black for me ~ before our 2006 trip and they worked great, except for the strap sliding which drove me crazy. And when I would adjust the strap my thumb often got stuck in the buckle - ouch! :( (Tho I supposed that could be operator error, lol)

The other problem I have with a messenger-type bag is well, I'm pretty busty. The one large strap across my body definitely empathises that in a not-very attractive way.

As far as organizing stuff though, the bag is great! And no problems with bleeding color with either the red or black. I used the black one as my carry-all bag for work (I'm on the go a lot) for over a year, I just slung it over one shoulder, rather than across my body.

I am bumping this question back up.
Can someone explain how the ripstop and crinkle nylon may be different?
Also, what about the microfiber?
I have decided I will go ahead and order since no one else has had trouble with the colors bleeding. I just would like to know the benefit of one fabric over the other.

jerelynj, I read that you ordered the microfiber. Can you report back this weekend and let us know how the fabric feels, weighs, etc.

I am crazy, I know. I just would like to be able to compare the fabrics.......pros/cons, etc.

The fabric is better than I expected. I thought it would be thick and bulky, but it really isn't. The whole package wighed 1.7 lbs, including the box, so it's really not heavy. Another reason I like it is that I think it will hold it's shape a little better once it's packed. I may be wrong about that, but I will find out.

We are taking the boys to the Reagan Library this weekend for DH's customer event. I think I will try it out that day and see how it goes.

I asked this on another thread, but it was old so no response. Is the Baggallini Messenger only confortable when worn across the body? I like to sling bags over my shoulder, so I'm wondering if that is an option with this bag, or would it feel awkward?

I wear mine over my shoulder most of the time and it is very comfortable. I have the messenger bag.

I am a petite woman - less than 5' tall. I purchased the Messenger bag last year and was very excited to try a new bag that was raved about by many DISers. I absolutely loved the bag & the organization ability it provided. But after a couple of days at WDW, I discovered it wasn't for me. First of all, when it got loaded (with not that heavy of stuff), it became too heavy for me. I don't believe the weight would have been a problem, but because all the weight was on one side of my body, the weight pulled on the shoulder that was holding the strap. Also, the weight caused the buckle not to stay in place, causing the strap to become too long. For me, I will go back to a small backpack - that way the weight will be evenly distributed across my back.

I also had the same problem with the buckle(poor design there) I just put a safety pin there and it hasn't been a problem since.

Add me to the baggallini fan club. I have three of the messenger bags in different colors. I wear mine over my shoulder too, don't like to wear things across my chest. I think they are still very comfortable across the shoulder.
Mine are black, khaki and yellow... none have bleed when wet.
