Where would you stay? Deluxe dilemma!

One night, our last night, mid December, after six nights at All Star Sp, free dining - I have access to 40% off deluxe resorts, thanks to the Military discount!
I have holds at AKL for $251, and a studio at Boulder Ridge Villas at the Wilderness Lodge for $311
I'd like a standard room at the WL for that last night, not available at this time.
So for now of those choices which would you go with?
Or perhaps another option, I'm all ears? (:
Thanks!

if I were to stay at a deluxe, my two top preferences are Polynesian and Animal Kingdom Lodge. So without doubt I would go with Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Another vote for AKL. I will probably get there one day on a spilt stay. I'm very curious to try a safari view room. But I don't think I would want my whole trip there. So that would be my choice. Good luck.

Have you considered the Poly or GF? I've never been to either at Christmas but have heard the GF decorations are beautiful and I just like the Poly vibe and location.

We loved the villas at WL. It was easy to get to the MK and it's such a beautiful quiet resort. The kiddos loved the pool.

I'm a DVC owner at WL so that would be my first choice. WL has just gone thru refurbishment/construction so there's some new there which would be to check out. Second choice, GF. Stayed there when I got married at WDW. And it is decorated beautifully at Christmas.

What a great dilemma! You really can't go wrong - each deluxe resort has something special about it. If it's only between AKL and WL studio, I would go for AKL and try to spend some time really enjoying the resort. You should get 2 queen beds in AKL while in the studio your kids would be staying on the sofa bed, if it makes a difference. AKL also has some terrific restaurants - Boma, Jiko and Sanaa are all worth a visit. Christmas decorations at ALL the resorts will be unique, and going at Xmas is on our bucket list. (Our stay at AKL was in December but we spent all our time at the parks and AKL only, so we didn't get to see the other resorts).

GF is our favorite deluxe overall, and I've heard terrific things about how they do Christmas decorations. BLT/Contemporary for the "original" WDW resort feel, and I love the Boardwalk area for easy access to Ep and HS, and because the Boardwalk also feels like its own separate resort away from the bustle of the parks.
