Sad news tonight...bodies of missing soldiers found at Ft. Hood...total of 9 dead on Ft. Hood due to the flood. In the Richmond/Rosenberg area (30 miles west of Houston) the ground is so saturated a buried gas tank at a filling station has "floated to the top". This flooding is from the Brazos River that is flooded all the way into north Texas; it will be quite some time before the waters drain for the area to our south. Austin County is still experiencing some flooding but some of our residents have been allowed to return home to begin cleanup.

Yep...could have filled those California reservoirs ... and had some left over to send your way. Mother Nature is a "fickle female", that's for sure. Just thankful the tropical depression in the Gulf seems to be headed toward Florida (sorry Ed ); one of DH's co-workers is leaving for DW next week and rain predicted for the first 4 days of their trip.

Speaking of DW trips...DD booked a trip for them for July! Redstorm decided to pass on one of the soccer camps she'd planned on attending so a week of "semi-free time" opened up for them. They'll be going on a July 7-13, Thursday-Wednesday, so she'll miss 3 days of summer workouts at the high school Monday-Wednesday and the Princess will miss a week's worth of dance class before National's but they'll get their family vacation! They NEED the break with the busy schedule they keep and we're more than happy to take care of Miss Cici for them while they're gone! They'll have 2 nights at WL before trying Saratoga Springs for the first time. (And...now, if I can manage to schedule a fall trip, I won't feel guilty 'cause they didn't get to go this year! )
