When will '09 dates be released?

DARN IT!!!!!!!! Today is Nov. 1st!!!! HOW much longer can they make us wait?????????????????? I really need to know how much $ I need to save.....and it'd be nice to know where I was going too!

Oh wow, I haven't logged in in ages, and I see my little bitty post has 27 pages?? Guess I'm not the only one dreaming big here!

Still planning on a 2009 cruise. We talked last weekend of foregoing a big family vacation in '08 to save our pennies for '09. Worth it to me, for DCL anyway.

I refuse to go unless it's paid for in full and that does not mean using a credit card so price is of very high interest to me!

First, I want to know where we are going. Then, I will look at the prices and see if it's doable for us. If it's a cruise that I really want to do and think DH and I will really enjoy (Alaska ) then I'm booking it.

Count me in also, as another impatient person waiting for 09 itinerary, specifically any special cruises, such as MED, Alaska, Southern Caribbean, or my favorite, which isn't mentioned much, Hawaii.

Just off the Wonder earlier today. Per the crew, the 2009 dates (Wonder and Magic) are due to be out in the first two weeks of December. We also confirmed an earlier thread that the "Med" and Alaska are not on the radar for 2009. Nothing is official as to where the Magic will be for 2009. The crew does enjoy hearing the rumors on the DIS boards.

Given that it was crew and captain who first put "Med" on the radar - I'm not buying a thing anyone on the Wonder or the Magic says until DCL tells us where they are going.
I think they like spreading disinformation...

I don't disagree with your comment....but I will defend the Wonder CMs who told me back in August they had not heard a thing from the higher ups at DCL and went on to say they have never seen the rumor mill so quiet. The only thing they did mention was that the Med rumors were coming the the Magic CMs and not from the higher ups in Florida.

So these latest rumors coming from the Wonder are the first things we have heard so far.

Of course, they can be completely wrong, too.

The US dollar is far too weak now for DCL to consider the med in 2009.... just my opinion.

Ok, I'm a cruising newbie here, we are also hoping to cruise in 2009 for our honeymoon (after our Disney wedding! ) so I may need a little assistance from all you experts!

How does the release work?

Do the dates and itineraries get released first, with bookings opening on a later date, or does it all happen at once?

Also, what time of day do bookings begin, we're in the UK, so we have that pesky little time difference to figure out!

Back on my Aug 2006 Magic cruise the buzz from the CMs was that DCL would order two new ships....that rumor turned out to be true.

So it was strange on my Aug 2007 Wonder cruise to hear from every single CM that I talked to that they have heard zilch about 2009.....no rumors, nothing at all.....even the rebooking agent said she's never heard it so quiet.

The only CM who said anything was Captain Henry who said "it takes 18-24 months to plan the special cruises".
