When does your school start back up ?

Ours here in Ohio are starting August 11th which is 2 weeks earlier then usual. I just wondered are most school starting early this year or is it just ours ? I thought maybe it may effect crowds in August and May if everyone is changing

I think we "win", lol - DD goes back to school July 31... Eeeek, less than 2 weeks away!

It's usually around the 1st or 2nd of August, somehow that one extra day pushing it into July makes it seem so much earlier.

September 2nd, in Canada (Vancouver) we start summer vacation late June until the Tuesday after labour day.

However, our teachers went on strike two weeks prior to the end of school, and I'm not holding my breathe that school will start on the 2nd, based on all the politics and the fact our government is trying to break their union.

You guys you go back in early August, when did the school year end for you?

I am a teacher and I report back on August 1.

This past school year:

I teach at a private school and went back August 19th, students started August 27th.

My DH teaches at a public school and went back August 27th, students started August 28th.

Due to snow days my DH got out June 19th and I got out June 20th.

Here in MD we start back on Aug. 25th and we didn't get out until June 18th.


We arrive Disney on the 8th of Aug. and depart on the 17th. I am hoping that the crowds will be dropping off each day.

Wow that is late But great if you want to go to Disney the last week in August when crowds drop alot.
