When do we thaw our Turkeys?

OK - I have a frozen Turkey - 16 pounds. When do I take it out to thaw? I want to just move it from freezer to frig.

I agree tonight or by tomorrow morning at the latest. I know it sounds early but that is really how long it will take.

I can't tell you how many times I've spent T morning pouring cold water into a turkey's rear.

OK - thank goodness I asked. I was going to wait until Tuesday. Don't want to be pouring water on it's rear on Thursday

I've waited as long as Tuesday and never had a problem, but it wasn't a "huge" turkey - generally in the 12 to 14lb. range..

I overheard the butcher at the supermarket yesterday tell her that she should leave it in the refrigerator as of yesterday. (it was one of the big ones). I would put in there now also like everyone has said.
