What's your Strategy for Carrying All YOur Stuff around the parks? Cameras, water, et

When my kids were little I would travel sooo light. I would put a bottle and a diaper in my purse (for regular errands - not Disney) and away I would go. Now my daughter has a baby and they carry a diaper bag that weighs about 50 lbs (at least). I was carrying the bag and had to put it down. I had to trade her for the baby (in her seat) because she was lighter. I say pack what you think you would like to take and then go downtown or to the mall in your city - walk around for a few hours and then see what you can do without. You might be able to do with less.

i plan on using fanny packs and backpacks since i do have young kids...i just bought new fanny packs with water holders at walmart...they were $4.97 in a variety of colors and also small backpackpacks were $7.97; also i got my husband a really big fanny pack in camo colors in the hunting dept for less than $5 too...all of our money, cameras, film will go in these and snacks, diapers, wipes, extra clothes, etc in backpack...

 princess:

thanks for all the tips, i'm going to walmart to get that fanny pack!!! woo hoo!

plus will check ll bean too

does anyone try to take your bag on the kali rapid ride?

AMEN to that!!! I had two low maintainance boys. All I carried was my camera. Now that we're empty nesters. Hubby carries our tickets in is wallet. That's it!!!

To be fair. It would be different if we stayed offsite, had small "babies", or stayed all day, then I would pack more. But I do agree that you probably need far less than you think you need and I would definitely think twice about taking tons of stuff.

With two kids, a backpack is a must. I use a medium sized padded camera bag backpack with a sling style strap. It holds everything we need and the one sling strap is easier on the back and shoulders than the two strap type. We take it on all the rides and have never had a problem.

We have a cheap "camel-back" back-pack from target. It cost $19.99. It carries 2 Litres of water, with a large tube with a bite valve at the end. We freeze the bladder half full of water, add more spring water, and we have cold spring water for 1/2 a day. When it gets warm, we just ask for cups with ice at any station at disney world and they give them to you. In addition to the water, we have a video camera, digital camera, ponchos, etc in the back pack. My DH has no problems carrying it, and you save a bundle on water.

What do you do to carry around all your stuff? I never used a backpack before bec. worried about taking it onto rides........

I carry my stuff in a backpack. It's fine when you take it on rides...just hold on to your bag or just put them under your seat and your stuff will be okay.
