Breaking the 1-bedroom seal...which should be my first?

After years of Studio stays we're going to turn our 4th of July week at BCV into a split stay with a 1 bedroom attached to the second half. The choices seem to come down to BLT and BRV. There is a BWV available but being at BCV already that doesn't seem worth the move. There is a CCV available but that's the first half of the trip and meh we'd rather end on the 1 bedroom if possible. There is a VGF 1 bedroom resort view but man is that starting to get up there in points! There's a reason we've stayed studios for years...point misers...err...optimizers! I have a Poly Tower waitlisted but not holding my breath.

So what's the 1 bedroom folks recs? We're the type that love the pros of every resort and can deal with all the cons. Also don't need more than one bathroom.

How many people?

CCV only sleeps 4.

BRV you would bring an air mattress for guest 5 if applicable.

Obviously any pool would be a downer coming from SAB but BLT is very weak imo.

We enjoy BLT but we love the extra bathroom which you said is not needed.

BRV has a lot more theming and has geyser point and Roaring Fork.

We were fans of The Wave but don’t care too much for Steakhouse 71 so since the bathrooms don’t matter we would go with BRV

I have stayed in both studios and one bedroom villas at BCV, BLT, and BRV. They were all great. BRV is one of the classic layouts similar to BCV, where BLT villas are laid out slightly different (especially if you can get a villa on the outside of the curve, which are slightly bigger). If the 3rd and /or 4th are during that part of your stay, I would go with BLT for ease of watching the holiday fireworks at MK. Even if you don’t have an MK view from your villa, there are a lot of places to watch them and avoid the crowds. I think either choice would be nice, especially since you haven’t stayed in a one bedroom before.

I agree that making a move to BWV doesn’t make a lot of sense in your case.

Only 3. We're always good in a studio. Just stayed at BRV and absolutely love the theming there. Yes BLT pool is super disappointing. Was just there in February. In terms of resort dining that doesn't matter as muc since we already have our dining...tho with a 1 bedroom I'd now be tempted to grab more groceries and actually cook something decent and healthy!

It would be on the back half of the 4th so no view. I could do CCV for the first three days and catch the MK show on the 3rd then move to BCV but I frontloaded Epcot/HS days so it would be a pain to start in the MK area. All fun problems to have!

VGF would be nice too but if I was going to spend all those points I'd rather the splurge be the Poly tower! If only it was available!

Book VGF and waitlist PolyT.

We did a split stay last year with BWV and AKL and it was really hard to go from a resort that’s walkable to two parks, to one that requires buses to all. So for that reason alone, I’d probably go for BLT (and second reco to waitlist VGF or POLY).

VGF one-bedrooms are beautiful and huge. Second largest on property after OKW. If PVB IT isn't a theme park view I would personally rather be at VGF.

VGF 1 bed really worth it huh? I started leaning towards BLT just bc it's summer and so darn hot and walking or monorailing back might be easier than waiting for the boat. The point difference between BLT preferred and VGF resort seems to be only 14pts. I was curious to see the refurb at BLT as well but not having stayed at VGF since last year that may be a worthwhile splurge? Honestly probably going to go back to studios after this so this is a treat...perhaps you're right.

It will be easier to book BLT again, harder to book VGF.

But…. your argument about the short walk is compelling….

There is nothing about BLT that even comes remotely close to BEV or VGF in my opinion. Plus the pool is just...concrete-y. The only thing that it has going for it over the other two are the newly refurbed rooms which I did not get a chance to stay in last time and the short walk during the brutal summer heat. But you have definitely got me thinking VGF now. Will mull this over for sure.

Also I'm noticing for the first time what a bad value 1 bedrooms are point wise and how much better of a value 2 bedrooms are. I'm just a Studio plebe lol

The biggest plus of BLT is the extra bathroom. If you don't need that with three people I think VGF has nicer finishes, even after the full refurb at BLT.

You can also easily walk to PVB IT if you wanted to check it out or try Wailulu. It's so close to VGF!

This was one of my thoughts too. BLT will be readily available again in the future. VGF can be harder.
