We are considering visiting Disneyland the week between Christmas and New Year's. I realized it will be very crowded then. We've been to Disney World during that time of year many times but never Disneyland. For those of you that have experienced both Disneyland and Disney World that time of year, is Disneyland worse/more crowded or are they similar?

We are visiting that same week, so I'm watching this thread even though I've never been to either DW or DL at that time, and this is our first trip to DL. Just figuring out all of the nighttime entertainment is confusing, between the "normal" schedule, the 70th, and whatever happens for the holidays.

I can't compare the two because I've never been to WDW that week.

To give you an idea of how crowded they anticipate it to be, Inspire MK is the top tier MK that can go everyday. They are blocked from Dec 22 - Dec 31. Inspire MK are back in the park on Jan 1 so I think it will be even more crowded on Jan 1 & 2. The Costco Disneyland tickets need to be used by Dec 19.

@smwisc when Disneyland first announced their 70th entertainment, they said that some of it will "pause" for the holidays. They didn't define which entertainment will pause and whether "holidays" refers to Halloween, December holidays or both. I believe it is confirmed that the Better Together parade will not run from Aug 22 through at least Jan 7. HalloweenScreams will replace Woundrous Journeys on August 22. Christmas Fantasy Parade will start on Nov 14.

ETA: World of Color Happiness! will change to World of Color Season of Light on Nov 14.
