I have had a no cancellation policy when I rented points. I did however say I would work with a renter to reschedule if something happened and they could not keep the original reservation. This would of course depend on the availability for when they wanted to go. If they were able to find someone to take over the rental I would change the names on the reservation for them and the details as to money exchanged at that point would be up to them. I also require payment in full once they have gotten the written confirmation from me. Different people have different policies and it is best to get everything worked out in advance so there are no misunderstandings. You are wise to ask your question. Some people require a non refundable deposit before making the reservation (of course if the reservation is unavailable there should be a refund) and then payment in full by a certain date. You will probably get many different answers.
