This doesn't really count, cause it wasn't a deal everyone could get, but it enabled us to take a 10 day vacation in 2003----$66 a night at the CONTEMPORARY.
Shades of Green was down for rehab and they were putting everyone up at the military rate (at the time DH was only E5 and therefore could score the cheapest rate) at the Contemporary. We almost fell over when we saw the pricing and immediately booked. Although the CR isn't my favorite, I would stay there anytime for that price!
In fact, my mom and I stayed there again later that year for 6 nights while she was in Orlando for a nursing convention.
Then even later that year, DH went to a conference in Jacksonville, FL, but had the weekend "off." He drove to Orlando and stayed at the CR for 2 nights at that rate AND got in the parks free with the Salute the Troops deal.
I counted it up and someone in our family stayed at the CR for 19 nights that year. And we live in Oregon! Not exactly a hop skip from Orlando, but with those rates, and super cheap flights on Southwest, how could we resist!
