What's the cheapest you've ever paid for a room?

79.00 @ CSR in June,so we booked 2 adjoining rooms. ! for DD(11) and her freind and one for DH and me.

We've had All Star Movies and Pop Century for $49/night quite a few times, usually the first weekend in Dec (since 2000). Either we got the e-mail from Disney, or it was just the public rate. Last summer, we got Pop Century for $59/night, and Wilderness Lodge for $121/night.

Oh, and in Dec 2002, we got Grand Floridian for $199/night!!!!

And I do miss those discounts too!!!!

$49.00 All Star Movies, December 2001 - post card rate

$169.00 Contemporary Wing Room. August 2001 ( but got upgraded for free to a tower room facing MK) - general code for public

According to my AA Advantage membership I can book POP resort from August-September for $43 a night. Too bad there is no way we could swing 2 trips this close to one another.

How about $40 per night at the Contemporary, July 1972 (my grandparents actually paid the bill). I paid about $100 per night at the Comtemporary Tower in May 1991. This was during the first gulf war and tourism was off; Disney was offering many discounts to tempt people. I believe this rate also included a full breakfast each morning.

Our honeymoon at the Dolphin for $50.00 a night. I wish we could get that rate again!!! :flower:

Sorry if it seems obvious but what is post card rate? I've been on these boards since May and I don't remember ever seeing that term.

Thanks for your patience. :flower:

Best was like $41 (tax included) for ASMu a night.

Worst was $315 a night for Boardwalk, 1BR.

Every now and then Disney selects individuals to receive a post card with a special rate on it. How does Disney select these individuals or how they came about that rate is unknown to many but one thing for sure, you need to be known to Disney i.e. order something from them, requested information, etc. and they must have picked you as the people most “deserving” of the special rate.

And also that postcard might have a specific resort on it like POR for a certain amount per night but the card has a code on it and they'll give you a great deal on any resort. That's why we always hold out for about three months before we go (of course we don't go during a busy time) to see if we're going to get a card. There isn't any way to sign up for a card but I've heard people say to sign up on as many Disney related websites as possible and hope for the best. I've also heard with tourism being up they're sending out fewer and fewer cards. :(

$55.00 per night for Contemporary Tower water view in February 1972. I thought it was a great deal until I read $40.00 in June 1972 on this thread. Had to book 1 year in advance to even get a room for our dates in those days. No "codes" or "postcards" back then that's for sure!!!

I recieved mine post card after September 11th when tourism was down. It was for a value resort for $49.00

That is the only reason we went in December of 2001. I couldn't pass up the great rate at the hotel and the great rate I got on airfare for December. We were able to see the Christmas decorations, Osborne lights and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party.

That's what started the whole thing! I received one postcard, and had to go. CBR 79 per night, WL stnd rate 121 per night through 12/28 because my ressie started on value night. We were upgraded to Courtyard view too.

$55 plus tax at ASMO last December. Wouldn't it be nice to see that again!

99/night Contemporary (SOG)
129/night Swan over NYE (2001/2002)

My friend got 99/night at Poly when CBR closed for refurb.

Ah, you beat me. :earseek: $64 a night at the Poly, lagoon view, in 1977.

Just last year we were offered:

$49 for any of the Values (as many have already said)
$79 for any of the moderates
but we stayed at AKL for $109 Savannah View...for that price, we couldn't pass it up! Glad to have done it once, now I don't feel I have to stay there again (loved it, but just don't "need" to do it again)

For those who posted $0/night....HOW? I know about the postcards/e-mails/AAA and public discounts, but I've never seen FREE.
