Whats in your Easter basket this year?

Ok so I am glad I am not the only one who goes a little over board as some might say. I don't do a whole lot of candy, DS10, will be getting braces soon so nothing really sticky or gummy.
So for DS 7 he is getting a phat ball, a scooby dvd, spider man paddle ball, 3 different eggs with candy, $10 movie theater gift card, a season pass to the aquatic center, swimming stuff and a beach towel.
DS10, is getting a new baseball mit, $15 movie theater gift card, beach towel, swimming items, a season pass to the aquatic center, 3 different eggs with candy, and a movie or game for his psp.
I really try not to go over board, but sometimes i do. For Christmas their present is a trip to Disney Land and Seaworld. Last year their bday presents was a trip to WDW.

My kids each are getting one small Webkinz, one pez dispenser, and 3 pieces of chocolate. I am going to make small bags to put them in, out of felt (will get that process started tonight).

Total cost per bag/basket $11.

I budgeted 10 per basket, so, not too far off.

Not much, but they should be happy.

Jordansmomma, your not alone. I just didn't have time this year to do my bargain hunting and since we spoiled them rotten all year with trips to WDW and countless purchases at the stores there I figured the cheap stuff would be enough this Easter...lol.

I told my fiance his wallet is going to be in trouble when we have kids because I just can't say "no", I'll be the crazy Mom who buys every cool or trendy thing for Easter.

Plus, we are taking his niece to the Magic Kingdom tomorrow to see the Easter Bunny and hopefully to do some rides, depending on the lines (cringe, I've never done Easter Week before).

what are webkinz?

what are webkinz?

A small stuffed animal, obtainable at hallmark, or other specialty gift shops, that comes with a code...

enter the code online, and your webkinz appears online. You then feed it, buy it toys, play games with it, ect. It's semi-educational, because the quickest way to earn more money, to buy more stuff, is to answer educational questions.

Finally went shopping & I found the ellusive webkinz! :rotfl:
The kids are getting a bullfrog and a monkey. Not very Easter bunny-ish, I know and a little on the $$ side for a stuffy, but I opted to do these instead of a ton of candy this year.
I'd like to add a couple disney $ too, but don't know if they'd care too much for them.

What's in the Easter basket???? TOO MUCH! My kids are too old for easter baskets (13 and 20) but every year they look forward to getting one. They think Easter is a holiday similar to christmas when it comes to "presents". They started giving me "hints" on what to put in their baskets this year about 2 weeks ago..and of course DH and I are suckers  and we usually spend about $50.00 each on goodies, and we usually get a chocolate easter bunny, and some other candy to fill the basket. Its fun to see them look through their baskets on Easter morning, even though there older. We'll keep playing the "easter bunny" until they move out of the house...heck, I still have them put out their shoes on the eve before St. Nicholas day!:rotfl:

hum- some items from the dollar section at target, along with the dollar store. some.99 candy items from target, along with hersey kisses. bought ds a leapster game and dd a princess paper doll set from costco. dd also got that LPS easter set for 4.99 at target and ds the hotweels easter eggs. made sure they got equal amounts but nothing really overboard this year.

Both dd's are getting a webkinz, toothtunes, an outfit for their american girl and some candy. That should be enough!!

I wasn't going to do any real Easter stuff, but you guys made me feel guilty, so DS6 is getting one of those $30 refurb iPod shuffles and a webkinz and DD3 is getting some littlest pet shop toys and a webkinz. DH picked up a bunch of candy, I'm afraid to look and see what!

I'm putting them in plastic bucket things from kmart - shrek & care bears - that could also be used for the beach or pool or in their rooms.

Well originally I wanted to do cheap baskets but it didnt happen this year. I did end up not getting a lot of candy, just tootsie rolls and bubble gum. My DD got a refurb ipod and my DS got a wii game hes been wanting. They also got some beach stuff (thanks to all you ladies for that suggestion).

I'd love to see pictures of these baskets before the kids get into them... all colorful and perfectly assembled (or not, as in my case :rotfl: ) Anyone up for a pic exchange thread on Saturday night/Sunday?

Wow, you all are making me feel cheap. I got them 1 toy each plus a pez dispenser and some gummy bears in eggs.

DS 8 got a kite.
DS 5 got a sand box toy
DS 1 got some balls.

That is it. I know the grandparents will get them more candy so I didn't want to go overboard.

I'd certainly love to see everyone's pictures. Several years ago, I bought longaberger Easter baskets for each DD to use from that year forward and to eventually give to them when they have first child of their own. I know, longabergers are wayyy over priced :confused3 , but I really liked the way they looked. Anyway, I'm a sentimental type gal. I've kept lots of their first's...first ballet slippers, 1st ice skates and skating dress (I really think they're the cutest of anything I've saved), 1st wool dress coat (sz 12mo), 1st baby shoes, 1st baby doll, etc.... Heck I still have their crib, wooden high chair, bassinette, and loads of other 'stuff'. Back on topic, We are moving on Thursday. Sooo, at this point my kids will be receiving their presents in probably a brown grocery store bag :lmao:. Just kidding. ;) But, the baskets are already packed. So I don't think their presentation will warrant any good pics. Off topic again, I do like to be a little creative in my gift giving as older DD tries very hard to 'act' unimpressed by anything. So for Valentine's day, I found this cool picture holder at TjMaxx on clearance for $1. It'll match the theme in her new bedroom which is light pink/dark pink/zebra stripe. Anyway, I put her concert ticket to see Rascall Flatts in the picture holder. I have the BEST pic of her taking the holder out of the gift bag, and actually reading the ticket stub. It'll be one for the pic show at her wedding reception. :thumbsup2 Sometimes, I just have to 'one up' her and surprise her bigtime.
sorry for being so long.

Happy Easter Everyone!!

We are doing the Webkinz, toothtunes and a movie. Not too much candy, becasue my kids don't eat it really. I bought some Easter gum, eggs filled with a candy they do like and Easter suckers.

Our DD is only 2 1/2 years old so it is going to be a pretty basic basket. We got her a tinkerbell doll, sidewalk chalk, a Disney Princess kite, crayons, Disney Princess coloring book, and a chocolate bunny. For our Easter egg hunt, we are doing some traditional colored hard boiled eggs plus some plastic eggs with Disney Dollars, coins, and smarties.

DD13 has been bugging me for a curling iron so I got one for her and made a hair care themed basket. It has the curling iron, shampoo, conditioner, gel, some nail polish, and sun glasses along with a little bit of candy. DGD4's basket includes the Easter Polly Pocket, a couple of cute pop-up books I got at A.C. Moore for $1, moon sand, a small craft ($1/Ac Moore), swimmies, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, card games and some candy. I spent a little more than I planned but DD13's basket includes things I would have bought her anyway! And she has been helping me out with DGD4 a lot lately so she deserves it!

A Winx club computer game, 2 lil webkinz, pretty nail files and nail clippers, nail polish and gems, and some Chocolate !
