The cheeseburger soup was a keeper I'll try and get it posted this weekend.

I have to get ready to get angry again with Lost.;) When will I be able to figure what is happening?

Well the baseball coach is getting what he asked for......he signed the boys up for this Houston tournament against some of the best programs in the Houston area to "measure where we are". Kyle just called, we got killed in the first game 13-5. He said these Texas boys are "huge".:rotfl:

Well, you know I gotta support Texas boys but I do hope Kyle's team does better.

I am just so dang excited they are replaying last weeks! I missed it and couldn't watch it online in time. 2 hours of LOST - LOVE IT!!

I ended up making the cajun pork tenderloin. My tenderloin was still partially frozen when I threw it in so it's taking awhile but smells SO yummy. And couldn't get any easier!

I'm making brown rice (so I can pour that garlic butter over it  ) and some blackeyed peas.

Hey all--if you could send some prayers our way we'd appreciate it. We just got word that DH's grandmother probably won't make it through the night, and most definitely not the weekend. She's been ill for some time, but it's still sad nonetheless. We are in the process of determining if just DH or all 4 of us will travel north for the funeral.

On a happier note, the lemon spaghetti was a hit--even with DD! Not even a little for leftovers!

I expected to come home to a mess & not being able to use the bedroom. But my dear dear contractor Mario had the room totally finished when we came home. He even made the bed & dusted the room!!!!! How cool is that!

Sheryl, that really was a nice surprise. I can't even get my husband to make the bed. Glad you had a good time, but I hate you brought a bug back with you.

Lauren- I use micro fiber on my floors and never have any trouble. I admit I use all kinds of stuff on them now and they are still shiny, but even water cleans them up with no streaks. I got my mop at teh Big E but you can get them anywhere now. My new favorite is Method, I think. It is an almond cleaner and I get it at Target. Buddy says it smells like cyanide and I told him be careful :lmao::lmao::lmao:, that he better be nice because he'll never know if I am cleaning the floors or cookin' him up a snack

Gretchen- That chicken pilau sounds so good! I like gumbo and I like okra but I never have made it but this doesn't sound so hard to make.

:rotfl: :rotfl: You're killing me, Nancy. Not to mention Kenny thinks I have lost my mind sitting here at the computer laughing like a hyena.

The pilau is really easy and because it is meant to be changed around to fit whatever ingredients you have on hand, you can Nanatize it and it'll still be pilau. ;)

I also wanted to tell you how very sorry I am about Buddy's aunt. It looks like you are all going to have your hands full for the next 12 weeks. Thank heavens it sounds like she is going to be a good patient.

:lmao: :lmao: Poor thing. And here we are laughing at his pain and suffering. ;) Seriously, I hope it gets better once they find their groove. I don't know what time you are leaving in the morning, but I hope you and Johnny have a safe trip and that you all have a great weekend.

Hello Everybody-

I mostly lurk on this thread- there are always great ideas (so thank you for all the inspiration all of you have given me in the past).

On tonight's dinner menu is Omama's Chicken Noodle Soup. Omama's is my DH's Grandma (my boys call her Omama). In my DH's family, the rule is that once Grandma decides you are a keeper she gives you the recipe for her famous chicken noodle soup (that's if you're dating a Grandson- Granddaughters are automatic keepers). It's nice to have a recipe with a little history tied to it, plus it's a hit at my house and is requested a bunch.

That's a sweet story. Thank you for sharing it with us. Please stay and share recipes and stories with us. We are a friendly (and chatty) bunch.

Laura - Your "simple" meal looked pretty good to me.

Dinner tonight was excellent. Huge Props to Lauren (again) for the braised pork recipe. It's still Kenny's favorite pork recipe. He had a huge plate full and there are no leftovers. And best of all, I had a surprise waiting on me when I got home tonight - Godiva chocolates. Kenny ordered some this weekend since they were on sale and the box came today. :cool1: :cool1: Anybody want to guess what I had for dessert?

Stephanie- I am so sorry. :grouphug: I know that no matter how prepared you think you may be you are never ready to say goodbye. I will keep your DH's GM and your family in my prayers.

It's the perfect name for the show 'cuz I'm always LOST. They just had to make it even more confusing with not only flashbacks, but flash forwards.

I gave up on it last year but DH still watches it.
We had roast that I add onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper and Woechister sauce(sp) to, rice and green beans.

It was SO yummy! Loved it! I'm waiting for DH to get home so he can weigh in. It has a lot of flavor and some kick so I think he'll love it.

Just back from the Blue and Gold Banquet. It was really nice. I was right on target with the menu: spaghetti, salad, garlic bread and desserts. Still it was good. My kids all ate noodles with no sauce (crazy kids!!!)

We had one Cub getting his Arrow of Light award. It was a really neat presentation, with one of the chiefs of a local tribe coming to award it. It really made my Jacob want to work hard to get his own!

I want to make the lemon spaghetti, but I know DH will "need" meat. Anyone add meat to it, like chicken or shrimp? Or serve meat alongside it?

Making my grocery list tonight... thanks for any suggestions!

Tonight is leftover Not-sagna pasta, salad and bread.

WFD at your house?

On a side note, I just baked Lindsay's Vanilla rich chip cake, and my house smells like Heaven!!! I may just skip the banquet and eat the cake!

It's a keeper, isn't it? :)

Stephanie, Sending prayers your way.

*******
Not sure WFD...I will come back later. We have snow!!! Andrew does not have school and I got to get Tom moving. He has to plow the driveway before he goes to work (Its about 3 inches and still snowing).

This is Riley's first big snow fall. He LOVES it!
