Sheryl, Love your pics! Can't wait to see Mario's latest masterpiece!!!

I am also waiting for a dining review! ;)

Kathy -- Go Kyle! :cheer2:

I liked the lemon spaghetti recipe. The only thing I would do in the future is save a cup of pasta water, in case the sauce got too thick. This definitely was easy and would work with chicken or shrimp, or if you left out the cream and substituted clam juice, it would be a great sauce for linguine and clams. No parmesan for that though!

I tried to take a picture, but my memory card was full, so you'll have to settle for a picture of Caili instead. I was trying to get a photo of her in her Annie orphan costume, but she was so embarrassed about how dirty her shirt was, she wanted to hide it.

And here she is, ready for her close-up, still hiding the shirt!

She has a skating competition tomorrow. I can guarantee you that she will be much more at ease with that than she was with doing the play today.

Looks like she has recovered from the flu. Caili didn't need to hide her shirt it's just us her closest friends. :thumbsup2

:cheer2: For tomorrow's skating

Oh, crap! You just posted those cute Caili pics so I have to drag myself out of bed and get to her rink for the competition tomorrow, didn't you?? So much for sleeping in. Grr!! :)

Here are photos from tonight's dinner. First, the intended pre-dinner cocktail. It is a ginger-pear thing, with baked ginger-cinnamon pear crisp garnish. BUT, after one sip, we declared this cocktail off limits! It was WAY too strong. But, it looks pretty, so here is the pic:

Sheryl - The pictures are great, but I have to admit that my first thought was that your Mom didn't look happy in any of them. Did she have a good time or is she just one of those people who don't ever smile in pictures? Not that it's any of my business, but I figured if she wasn't happy it made your trip not as enjoyable.

Lauren - I'm glad that both of your boys enjoyed the snow.

Laura - Those photos are precious! Tell her I think she looked great.

Kathy - Congrats on the first win. I hope when I check back tonight or tomorrow morning you'll have more good news. BTW - I did a lot of research on renting points before I bought mine, but I haven't actually rented myself. When you get back, I can go over the basics, including what the conventional wisdom is for how to best protect yourself, how payment is made, the reservation process, etc. You can PM me or call. If I had extra points, I'd rent them to you, but I'm always in a borrowing situation myself and I never have any left.

Tonight's dinner was really good. I made spicy shrimp pasta - Paula Deen's recipe. I made a few modifications and while the kids weren't wild about it, Kenny and I loved it. I'll post it if anyone is interested.

I was showing my hubby the pics of your meal and he asked me where it was at. He wanted to eat there!:lmao: :lmao:

I told him that you made it and he said he thought it was a restuarant somewhere at Disney. :teeth:

The stuff looks so good.

And Caili is so cute, liamandcaili

Hey all--sorry I am late checking in

Nancy--How are the aunt's doing today? Don't let yourself get run down taking care of everyone else.

Sheryl--Thanks for sharing the pics..Bob looked happier then a pig in (you know what)....I hope that you get some much needed rest this weekend.......glad you came home to another great job by Marrrrrio...I wouldn't expect anything else from him though;)

Lauren--glad that A had fun in the snow...if you need more just let me know...

we have had 2 days in the past 2 weeks it hasn't snowed....the town came and did snowremoval from our yards so we would have room for the rest that is on the way.....it has been snowing since yesterday.....it is school vacation week and the kids have no interest in playing in it anymore so I have had a house full of boys playing rock band non stop........lord help me.....

Kathy--Can't wait to hear how the rest of the weekend goes!!! Give Kyle a "great job" from me please!!!

Laura--she is such a precious "orphan"...let us know how the skating goes...glad to hear she is feeling better!

I know I missed a ton today......I have been spending my days cleaning out each room and throwing out tons of "stuff"....keeping busy helps me get through the day and keeps my mind busy. In the evening to keep my mind busy this is what I do: I will admit I am a Big Brother junkie, and I do have the live feeds and also watch showtime afterdark...I don't sleep well anyway so this is better then laying there crying.

I hope everyone had a great Friday......"see" you all tomorrow!!

Dinner tonight was calzones that I made with fresh dough balls....roni for Ross, veggie for myself and Kris had meatball.

My head still hurts and I never made it to the store. I thought it might be a sinus thing so I took a sudafed, that didn't work either. Didn't feel like cooking dinner so DH got Chinese take-out. I had so much stuff I needed to do today and I didn't get any of it done. Oh well, there's always tomorrow.

Checking in....We played the only undefeated team left in the tournament and Kyle pitched a helluva game!!!!:cool1: :cheer2: :woohoo:  We won 8-6 and this team was one of the top ten teams in the COUNTRY!!!!! I am so proud of my boy, before the game when he was in the dugout he texted me and said he said a prayer to his "Papa", my Dad and asked for him to watch over him for this game. After the game he came up to me and I had tears in my eyes and said "Papa took care of you my boy". This has been an awesome night.:goodvibes

Thanks, I saw some of you responded to my plea for help with DVC rental, I really didn't get to read it all, but I will, and thanks to anyone who can help me!:)

Kathy -- That is so great for Kyle. Congratulations to him! And you...for not being too nervous. ;)

And Beck, no complaints from you. Do you see what time I am posting?? I was thinking maybe the competition would be delayed an hour or so, but no such luck. I am off to shovel us out.

Dinner tonight is whatever Becky makes me. :thumbsup2

I sent an e-mail to Robin and Kevin Thursday night just to see how they were. We hadn't seen or heard from them in 3 weeks. Kevin e-mails me later and asks if we want to go to lunch and a movie today so we are. I'm really dreading it. They really haven't had much to do with us this month and I'm feeling like my e-mail somehow guilted Kevin into asking us to do something.

I'm sorry for ranting, but I'm kind of peeved at them right now. We've heard a few things about them through my in-laws, things they should have been telling us themselves. The main one being they are not getting married here, they are getting married at the port on a Disney Cruise. All fine and good and don't blame them, but you did ask my husband and I to be your best man and matron-of-honor. A little heads-up would be nice. I've been doing a lot of mental planning of things I was going to do for her to help her get ready for her wedding.

To say nothing of I don't know where my good friend has disappeared to. We go from e-mailing, IMing, texting, and calling every day to nothing.

Again, sorry for ranting.

WFD at your house?

Becky this is one of those pleasure of being a proud Aunty. Make them a good dinner so we can drool.

Lindsay This sounds like they are a little implusive. I'm sorry you are caught in the middle. They really should think things through before acting.

I haven't thought of dinner yet. I have to get to the store today so the possiblities are endless. I may grill since my deck is almost snow and ice free thanks to Wendie and Lauren.;)

Well, I messed up the remainder of my quotes...as usual!

JANICE, Glad you can get out there and grill. I will be forced to grill a couple nights next week since I froze some chicken and pork in marinades last week. Thought this would be good since we are weight watching and I would not be able to make a fattening dish out of things in the freezer! :thumbsup2

LINDSAY, Sorry you are going through this crap. Just go out today and have fun. People sometimes get wierd like that but don't take it to heart. The good thing is...you're going on a cruise, right? Or did the MOH, Best Man thing change too.

I agree with Janice that they are not really thinking about the whole picture before their actions.

Have fun today!

*******************
We are going to Charlie Browns for dinner. :cool1: Haven't been there in a while so I am looking forward to it.

Have a great day!

No, we won't be on the cruise with them. That's what I'm saying. You ask 2 people to stand up with your at your wedding, then you decide to elope. Them telling us this would be nice.

That stinks. But, are you sure they are eloping? Didn't you say they are getting married at the port before starting the cruise? Or am I reading wrong? Anyway, I hope everything works out. Maybe they are feeling overwhelmed or something.

Kathy, congratulations to Kyle! How exciting!

I have no idea wfd tonight. Maybe some kind of fish? I have to go shovel my car out and get to the food store.

:woohoo: Congratulations to Kyle on the win!!! That was sweet, about your dad.

Hope you're feeling better today Sandy!
I'm feeling much better, thanks for asking. :goodvibes

Did they tell you themselves that they were eloping on the cruise and weren't planning on asking anyone to go with them? Sometimes things get misunderstood when it's second hand information. They're probably consumed with each other and their upcoming wedding and don't really mean to treat you badly. I think that's where the term Bridezilla came from. Let them know how you feel and hopefully they will think more about your feelings in the future.

WFD? We're going to DH's nephew's 5th bday party today. He requested steak. Since I didn't get to the store yesterday, I'll have to fight the weekend crowds to pick up a present for him before we go. Nothing like waiting 'til the last minute.

Hoorah for Kyle!!!!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: I'm so happy for all of you!!!!!

Lindsay, I'm thinking that is why they have been out of touch. They made these other wedding plans and didn't have the guts to tell you both so they've been ducking you until they had the courage to let you know they were eloping. Not that I think it's right, I just think they are taking the easy way out by letting your inlaws give you the news.

Tonight's dinner is going to be leftovers from last night. No cooking for me today. I'm hoping to get some laundry and some accounting done today. And I'm thinking of doing a little online retail therapy. Our 12 year old is driving us crazy and at this point, it's either shopping or drinking heavily. Maybe I'll do both. ;)

Hi All!

Lindsay- sounds a little odd to me. Maybe they are just trying to work things out out loud but have not really figured out the logistics of everything yet. My SIL is engaged and called DD the other day. She is planning a Feb 14 wedding but they had not made any plans yet. It seems she found a flower girl dress on sale and told Marisa to buy it while it was on special. Risa said No, a year in advance to save $20 on a dress for a little girl was silly. She did not even know that she planned on having Kady in the wedding. The last I heard was that it was me and another friend. Oh yeah, I'm wearing RED and have not seen it or tried it on.

Laura- Cailli is too cute!

Buddy's Aunt is doing okay. I have not done anything as they girls are all set for now. My Aunt is doing as well as she can I guess. It is going to be a long road here and Gail and I have no say in her future so we are just doing what we can to help her.

Marisa and I are going to a baby shower, Kady was not invited and this is my brother's son so I think it is odd. She is going on a play date so she will have more fun than we will though.

Dinner is up in the air, I am holding out for dinner out but who knows?

Checking in...games are over, we ended up with 3 wins and 2 losses, which is MUCH better than we expected!

We had 4 boys sick yesterday, it's now up to 8 and yep, Kyle is one. Woke up with fever, aches and congestion. The worst part is that I can't take care of him. They are five miles away and have to remain with the coaches until they return to school tomorrow evening. I wouldn't be surprised if the whole team isn't sick by then.:sad2:

We're going to Poppasito's(sp?) for margaritas and dinner tonight....never been there, can't wait!
