We are BWV owners about to make our fourth use of our points (In late April 2005)

Here's the dilema:

Stayed at GF in August 2000 on points (and the place was covered in scafolding)

Stayed at BWV August 2002 on points (and the place was covered in scafolding)

We now hear that "ongoing plumbing work" will be taking place a BWV through Spring 2005.

We have a one bdrm, boardwalk view room reserved at BWV, but my wife wants to switch (can't blame her....I think we are a bit overdue in terms of expereincing WDW w/out the added "attraction" of ongoing maintenance)

We're leaning toward moving over to BCV.

Anyone have any thoughts, comments, or opinions to sahre on this possibility. Also, if you been in a one bdrm at BCV, we're always interested in good rooms to request.

THanks!~:p

If it makes you feel any better, we just had an awesome stay in #310 at BCV's ~ 1bdrm villa;)

It was on the 3rd floor, not too far from the elevator but absolutely no noise from it and beautiful view of the pool.

That being said, you would probably do better to just request the view and floor you're looking for as it will be quite difficult for them to assign you a particular room. You'll have a better chance of getting what your looking for in a room with less specifics.

Hope you end up with a scaffolding free trip;)

We saw some evidence of the plumbing work back in May. The carpet outside our room was covered by plastic and you could see that temporary access panels had been cut into the ceiling drywall.

Disturbance created by the work: None.

In fact, having the plastic there helped us find our room--it started 2 or 3 doors before ours. ;)

Any work that was occurring must have happened during the day. For 4 days we never saw a ladder or even a maintenance worker in the area.

We just returned from a BWV stay in the area where work is being done. I didn't think it would affect me, but I must admit that the "pieced-together-plastic-bag" look covering the hall carpets is not very pleasant. Workers were very polite about trying to move out of the way when we passed by. But the overall effect bothered me more than I would have anticipated. You could make a specific request NOT to be in the construction wing, but I doubt that MS would guarantee it. Maybe front desk would give you a break, maybe not. You might be better off moving to BCV and avoid the possibility altogether.
