What time will our room be ready?

When we stayed at HRH last October, we checked in early, got our room keys and headed for the parks. We were told to phone to check that our rooms were ready later in the day. It was the first time our kids had stayed onsite at USF and they were so excited to be staying at HRH. We phoned at 4pm (the published check-in time) and were told to phone back in 30 minutes. To cut a long story short, when we were told at 5.30pm that our rooms still weren't ready, we were getting a bit fed up and decided to make our way over. The rooms still weren't ready when we arrived, so they allocated different rooms.

Dh and I will be staying at PBH in a few weeks' time. We plan on checking in early to get full use of FOTL. However, we have a reservation for Tchoup Chop at 7.30pm and we'd like to arrive in good time for a pre-dinner drink and be able to get ready at a leisurely pace. We're thinking that we really need to be able to get into our room at 4pm? Do you think they assume that folks checking in early to get to the parks won't be in such a rush for their rooms? Should we mention when we check-in that we'd really appreciate being able to get into our room in good time?

Deb;
My last trip (Feb 03), we got into our room at PBH at 7:30 AM when we went to do our pre-check in. I think it all depends on how busy they are. When we went, only about 40% of the rooms in our wing (Bay view) were full. We even added a night at the Entertainment rate our last day with no problems. I think if you get there really early for pre-check and they have a room available, you can get in then.
Good luck!

Good luck getting in early. We were there 4/21 - 4/24 and housekeeping service was the worse. Room not ready until 5 PM and didn't have cot we requested. When they finally brought it up the gentlemen left it upright in middle of room. My DH and I landed up moving furniture to place it in room. Under every item we moved was candy, garbage, etc. Other days room was still not made up till 4 or 5 in afternoon. They definitely need more help with housekeeping.

Thanks for your replies. We arrive on Thursday, 22 May, which I've since realised is Memorial Day weekend (not a holiday in the UK!). Just have to hope they're not too busy.

we will be arriving around 2 on saturday,,,so i hope our room is ready..... yes, cant wait!!!!!:Pinkbounc

We arrived at the RPR at 11:30 AM on Good Friday. They apologized that our rooms weren't ready yet because they had a full house the night before. We had 2 rooms,our first was ready at 2 and the second at 2:30. We had no problems with housekeeping. I just called down each morning and told them when we would be leaving and when we would be returning. The room was always ready when we returned. My sons had a slightly different situation. Their door stuck a little so when the maid would try to gently open it, it seemed to be locked from the inside. She kept coming back to the empty room but didn't get a response. I found this out after two days when I went down the hall to put something in their room. She was standing outside saying it was locked from the inside. I knew they weren't there so I opened the door for her. She was quite surprised and grateful to find out what was the problem.

You will love the PBH. We've had different experiences each trip, sometimes the room's ready, sometimes we've had to wait a couple of hours but never past 4pm. We've never had any trouble with housekeeping.
Have a great trip!

When we went in Nov of 2002 our room wasn't ready until 5:30 and that was only because around 5:00 I started to bug the heck out of them. They kept saying that the room was clean but it had to be "checked". We were staying at club level and were afraid that all of the goodies would be picked over :eek:. Still not sure what the hold up was considering the hotel was not busy at all. This was on a Saturday.
