What Rides / Attractions Are You "Retired" From???

Seems like a lot of people share the same retired rides! Darn getting older and motion sickness :crutches:

I've never been on Kali River Rapids (just never have gotten around to wanting to get soaking wet), Dumbo, Flying Carpets, Triceratops Spin, Primeval Whirl...I'm sure there are others...I can't do even slow spinning. Therefore due to motion sickness. I have retired myself from Tea Cups (after desperately holding the wheel trying not to spin more than needed), Mission Space, Star Tours (this one makes me sad that I can't go on when DH goes without me), Expedition Everest I used to ride no problem, however the last time I rode the going backwards gave me very bad vertigo, so much so that I never want to ride it again (another sad one to lose).

At least I don't go motion sickness (unless I ride like 10 times in a row) on drops and coasters so bring on Space, Splash, RNRR and Tower :worship:

Awww. Funny post, but sad too. You have retired so many of them. I guess I will at some later date. Right now I'm going to beat these horses 'til they're dead!

Space Mountsin for me too. I retired after the time two cast members had to haul my fat rear out of the car. It was the wrong end of a long, hot, busy day and my thighs quit on me some time during the ride. I was solo and it was mega embarrassing!

Other no-goes
Primeval Whirl-once was enough!
Character Meets-not since DD grew up and moved out, these were never my thing. DD is 29 and would stand in the Frozen line tomorrow if she could.

Awww. Another funny but sad post. SM seems to be a hands-down retirement winner.
Yes, our body parts give out on us. Screw it. It happens. Don't feel bad. You're secure enough to share it with us and that says a lot about you. I'm 57. I don't have kids. I'm just a big kid who is going out of my way to make sure i get all of my characters in. But not doing the characters is soooo great for time. Everybody keeps talking about PW. Can't wait to try it in November!

I have a mild body part tale from my 2015 visit. I was walking around all day and thought my feet were only mildly fatigued. I was on my last leg of activities at EPCOT and finally strolled towards the exit with my mildly aching feet. But the second I stepped out of the park... by feet went into defeat mode. I could barely put on foot in front of the other - they were so sore. The funny thing is... that while inside of the park - it must have been a mind over matter thing, because I only considered them mildly fatigued. Once I got out of that park and made it to the POP bus stop- I just sat down on the ground while being near the front of the line. That never happened to me before. We can't help what our bodies do at Disney! (*_*)

I am only 35? (I always have to think, yes, 35 haha)

And when I was 20, when we were at Disneyland Paris, we got a FP for the Indiana Jones roller coaster.....then got in line.....rode the ride, and then gave our fast passes away....HORRIBLE....I think its the backwards roller coastering that does it for me, because....

I can't ride Expedition Everest.....not at all....the backwards thing gets me....

I ride the teacups, but I don't spin them...

I rode Mission: Space pre-opening a few times (like how many times were we in Epcot right before it opened?? that's what happens when you go to college in Orlando haha) and I literally had to sit down for 30 min afterwards, that real weird feeling was going on behind my ears.....after 3-4 times back then, I CAN'T do it at all.....I have ridden the easy version after they split them, and well, it didn't really excite me? I mean, isn't the fun being space-like? I don't need to ride it again....

Lol great stories.
I love going back on EE!

Rofl. Yes, I too wondered if I was doing something wrong! I wondered... what was FUN about that??? And I'm not a thrill ride chicken, nor unhealthy... but I feel like I'm going to be thrown out of the seat! lol. Can you imagine how long that line would be if it included the probably thousands of us who just can do it!

And OMG.. THE TIKI ROOM... did it once and I was floored by how boring it was. An utter waste of precious Disney time! Hated it. Definitely a one and one attraction - so I don't even consider it a retirement. For me retirement means I used to do it, but not doing it anymore. I say get rid of it, and put in some kind a character attraction.
When my DBF was little, he ran screaming out of the Tiki Room when the totem pole started talking :lmao:How I wished I could've witnessed that! I'm sure he's retired the Tiki Room, and will not be doing it for his upcoming trip :rotfl:

Kali River Rapids. For some reason, "get soaked" rides just don't work in sprawling Disney parks. The chaffe is terrible and you end up stinking badly. Never again.

Tea Cups
Space Mountain (for the head and neck jarring reasons)
Astro Orbiter
Speedway
MS Orange (one and forever done!)
The Riverboat and Tom Sawyers Island (haven't been back on that one in probably 20 years)
Figment
Swiss Family Treehouse

Ugh! I forgot about FIGMENT. I got on it last time and told myself... that's the end of that. It's a waste of precious Disney time to me.
I am semi-retired from TOM SAWYER. I will do it if I am done all of my rides and have extra time for strolling. I like TOM SAWYER ISLAND but lets face it... that is not at the top of anyone's list. It's not so much that I'm retiring it.... I'll do it.... if I get around to it.

The Tree House.
When you've done it once, do you really need to do it again. I have to have a WHOLE LOT of time on my hands to do the treehouse.

It's weird because I used to love Space Mountain but after a refurb they did a few years ago, I found it the most unpleasant, painfully rough ride I'd ever been on!! Someone posted on these boards awhile back that the right side is less rough than the left side but I've never gone back on it to see if that was true. I would say it's an age thing too, but my DD feels the same way. I had the pleasure of riding the one at DL 3 years ago and that one is definitely WAY better.

Yes, it is true. Once side is less intense. I've done it and loved it and truth be told... rather than retire myself... perhaps I should just pay attention to get on the less intense side! Thanks for the reminder!
But in general... so many people are saying the same thing... it's one thing to be on a thrill ride... its another thing when the ride batters you.

And yes, I have heard from others here that it was AFTER the refurb that the ride got worse.

I won't ride the astro orbiter because it's terrifying to get into and out of the ride cars. I love tall coasters and don't mind heights, but something about loading high up just is a hard pass for me.

Mission space is a never done, never will. Movie/motion are a no go for me. I don't do star tours for the same reason.

RnRC used to be a fav, but I don't do upside down coasters anymore because I get a headache from them.

The fumes from the tomorrowland speedway make me nauseated and I can't even go near the fence let alone on the cars.

What am I not remembering about Astro O. ???
A number of people are saying this about the loading process and the loading process is all blur to me and Ive been on it at least 6 times.
I will take notice in November.
Interesting how our bodies change and what we were able to do one year, we can no longer do the next time. In any event... you listen to your body first and everything else second.

My family has only ridden Astro Orbiter once because it takes forever to get to the front of the ride, and it is a glorified Dumbo ride. We also have retired the Dumbo ride (very occasionally riding it on say every 10 trips), and the Aladdin Magic Carpet Ride, and Stitch's Great Escape which I view as a waste of time. Another ride we don't frequent anymore is Buzz Lightyear because the line is too long. As for what makes us sick, going to have to be tea-cups and primeval whirl.

Your retirements are about the same as mine.
And I forgot about BUZZ! I will only do buzz if I am passing it by and the line is short. I'm not good at it and it's a waste of time for me. I am officially adding that to my retired list.
I think most people are bored with Stitch already.

For the first time I had a real problem getting into the Space Mountain rocket. I have a bad hip and bad knee. I will still try to ride it on our next trip.

My retired attractions are TeaCups and Mission Space orange. I do get motion sickness and these would be killers. I have done each one just once. I rode Primeval Swirl once and survived, not sure if I want to risk it again. I did get sick once after riding Everest and RnRc but have had no problems since.

Other retired attractions - Swiss Family treehouse, Stitch and all the Dumbo type rides.

I am retired from "Its a small world"
The ride got stuck and guess what else did ???....that's right the song.... over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over !!!!!
NEVER AGAIN I am afraid to walk by the ride!!!

I am in semi retirement from Kali. It's just plain boring! I suppose if we are there on a stupid hot day and there is not a long line we might do it again, but I'm not adding it to my itinerary.

Primeval Whirl is definitely on my NeverAgain list. Way too jarring. I had an instant migraine that lasted hours!

Beyond those, not much I won't do. Mission Space Green was ok but I won't chance Orange. I have to drive 99% of the time because I get motion sickness and I'm not giving up my Epcot day!

I think it is interesting how these rides effect us all differently. Summit Plummet was scary as hell, but I'm glad I did it. I could be persuaded to do it again. I finally got the last piece of my bathing suit bottom out of my butt just last week!

I've only ridden Astro Obitor once, and it was during the fireworks. Now THAT kicks it up a notch! I was in tears because it was so beautiful and such a great experience!

I still love Space Mountain, and all the other coaster rides, EXCEPT RNRC. The last 2 trips I've ridden on it, I just keep getting my head jerked around and banging up against the restraints, no matter how I try to position myself or hold in a certain position. The whole time I'm just worried about the next time my head gets painfully thrust against something. Too bad, I remember absolutely loving this ride. I'm not sure what changed. My family all loves it, but I think it's officially retired for me.

We aren't retiring Buzz until the whole family gets "Galactic Hero" and the buttons that go with it!

What you're saying about RNR is how most of us feel about SpaceMountain.
