What ride do you *always* do first?

I was just thinking about this tonight....before I was a mother, it was always Pirates. MK is always the first park we visit, and we always took that left over the bridge to Adventureland and hit up Pirates. But now that my kids will actually have an opinion (at 3, she's got a really BIG opinion!) of where we go first this next trip, I'm wondering if they'll insist on a different first ride. Will this year start a new tradition for us? Can't wait to see!

So what is the first ride you all go to?

People are going to think we are CRAZY, but my family always does the Swiss Family Robinson Tree House FIRST THING of the first day at Disney..........this tradition started when I was a little girl and my family went to Disney every summer as we spent our summers in Florida.........now, as an adult with my own child I still do the same thing, although our upcoming trip will only be my daughter's second trip to disney........she already knows that we are going to walk through the treehouse first and she is looking forward to it!

Ours has also been Pirates traditionally, but this trip we did something different for various reasons. We like to do Pirates first because there is no height requirement so everyone can do it together, and it isn't a "kiddie" ride so the older kids are still enjoying it.

we don't always do the same park on our first day, so if it's epcot, we ride soarin'... magic kingdom, buzz lightyear (followed by tom sawyers island to find a paint brush!)... dhs, tower of terror... ak, safari...

lately its been tower of terror. but if we go to MK first(though we usually dont) it would be swiss familr tree thing because thats the first thing you see.

I remember always heading to Space Mountain in my younger years when I vacationed with my parents.

Now that I am visiting as a mom, (went in 2004 and 2005 with my oldest son-and only child at the time) I would have to say that we hit Dumbo first. We did this when he was 2 and 3 so that we didn't have to wait in long lines for this "must ride" since it seems to be so slow to load and unload.

We are going again in Sep with our oldest, now 7, and his brother that is 2 (leaving the 1 year old with grandparents) and we will likely take the same approach.

For our family, Dumbo is the first ride on our first morning at MK. It became a tradition after my first trip (before kids) when I had to wait 90min. to ride with someone else who HAD to ride it. My next trip with our DD, I made a point to go there first and the tradition began.

AK: Kilimanjaro Safaris
EPCOT: Soarin
DHS: RnRC (it may change though now that I heard of the new Toy Story attraction and long lines.....)

Since we had kids, our first ride at MK has always been Buzz Lightyear. At DHS, is has always been (kids or no kids) The Great Movie Ride. At AK and EPCOT, we don't have a tradition, we just go where the least wait is and fast pass the others.

If we are in MK: we always go to Fantasyland first... then it's just whatever we feel like from there!
EPCOT: Spaceship Earth. It's our all time favorite!
MGM: Great Movie Ride
AK: My DF and I haven't been to this park together but I'm assuming we'll go straight for EE.

We visit the Tiki Room....but the first "ride" is usually Splash Mountain.:thumbsup2 :cool1:

For our upcoming September trip, my DS5 informed us all that the first ride we will be riding will be Tower of Terror....so I guess TOT it is!

mk: space mountain
epcot: soarin
ak: ee
studios: rnr, but might be toy story next time

Pirates always first for us. I just have to ask how do you sell disney vacations in your PJ's?

Pirates for us, too. I take our traditional picture of the kids on the bridge over there (same place for years....fun to see them 'age' there!) then head over to Pirates. As soon as I'm in the boat, it seems to say "Yes, you really ARE at Disney!" Silly, I know, but that's how it is. :goodvibes

Pirates was the very first Disney ride I ever went on, my first trip in 1992. So it holds that little extra special memory for me, and we try and do it first each time.

At DL we usually hit Peter Pan first since it doesn't have a FP and the line gets VERY long VERY quickly but at WDW its Test Track or Pirates.

MK- Pirates
Epcot- Mission Space
AK- Expedition Everest/ Safari
DHS- The Great Movie Ride
