Sometimes we go to a restaurant and have high expectations and are dissapointed. I am wondering what restaurant you went to and were pleasantly suprised at how good it was. I went to Concourse Steakhouse and it was the best steak I had my whole trip. I really enjoyed my meal and if you are on the dining plan it is only credit so it is a great deal. What restaurants do you recommend?
Thanks!!!!

Really pleased with House of Blues in DTD. Best BBQ ribs and gumbo I've ever had. Try their cornbread It's delish!:thumbsup2

Thanks for responding, the restaurant doesn't have to be on the dining plan. I like signature restaurants so I usually end up paying OOP for a couple of meals.:)

I think it would have to be Ohana. The food was so delicious! LOVED the potatoes and the banana'sfoster......I really did not expect great things but I must say we were all pleasantly surprised!

I would have to say Crystal Palace Breakfast. We went there last summer for dinner and my mom didn't really want to go back, but I convinced her to try their breakfast and it was much better than dinner (at least to my mom). I enjoyed both meals.

Also, Trails End for both breakfast and dinner. So far, the only places I won't go back to are Rainforest Cafe AK (horrible service) and Alfredos at EPCOT (didn't enjoy the food, except dessert)

I would have to say the dinner we had in England at the Rose Crown and Pub two summers ago was great. We kinda just ended up there, not planned. Our server was fabulous, the food and drinks were good. It was just an over all pleasant; very enjoyable meal. This included 7 people, 3 of which were children 5 and under; and you know if parents can say that after a meal, it had to be good.:)

Boma for buffet quality, Tusker House for counter service, California Grill for signature, and V&A's for best of the best :)

Cheers!

coral reef because it had such a bad rap here on the dis boards before we went. we all enjoyed our meal. :cloud9: I am eating there 2x next trip(the one DH (and the d does not stand for dear at the monment) does not want to take:headache: )

We love LeCellier in Canada...have eaten there our last 2 trips & everything has been wonderful...food & service!!

Boma's always exceed's my expectations!

Loved everything about Boma - and was very happy that the kids enjoyed it as well!

San Angel Inn. I had heard many poor reviews on here about it so I was surprized by the tasty food, good service and lovely atmosphere.

We hadn't planned on eating there is was a walk-up lunch. I think that added to the experience.

I agree:thumbsup2 we didn't really know what to expect based on the menu, but we never make a visit without a stop at R&C now.

Thanks for the great responses. I know there have been similar threads, but things do change. People try new restaurants and new people see the threads so I like to ask questions that will help me decide my ADR choices,so I hope that is okay.:)

I think it would have to be Kona. I didn't know much about it on our last trip, but made a last minute reservation. It was so good and I think it was the best meal of the trip!!

We were surprised and loved Concourse, too! WAY better steak then at LeCellier, actually.

We also were surprised by Kona - the menu looked good but we had never done dinner there (and were underwhelmed with breakfast) and it was the best meal of our trip.

Best counter service was Tusker House - my Father in Law talked about that meal all week long! We didn't make plans for counter service at AK and my mom was pushing for Flame Tree but I refused to eat outside so we went to Tusker House and were thrilled. YUM!

For table service, the one that most exceeded my expectations was Concourse Steakhouse. It wasn't "fine dining at its finest," but the food was very, very good and very well presented, from start to finish. I'd been led to believe that it was just a so-so restaurant, and I didn't find it to be that way at all.

For counter service, the one that most exceeded my expectations was Columbia Harbor House. Again, I'd been led to believe that you couldn't find truly good food in MK, but I'd recommend the Starboard Deck Sandwich to anyone! Mmm...broccoli slaw...[drooling sounds]

I would have to say LTT for lunch. I hadn't heard much about LTT lunch on these boards and we made ADRs so that we could have a sit down meal within MK one afternoon. I had an absolutely delicious salad and DH had pasta which he really enjoyed. Our appetizers and desserts were awesome. DS ate his entire meal, which was unheard of at the time. We liked the colonial atmosphere. Our waiter was exceptional and quite funny. He earned himself a big tip, above the DDP gratuity.;)
