What restaurant exceeded expectation?

Another vote for LeCellier. Loved the pretzel bread sticks & Cheddar cheese soup.

LeCelliar was excellent - but that's what I went expecting, so I can't say it surpassed my expectations.

Two that were better than I expected were Crystal Palace Breakfast - very fresh tasting, good variety, and Mama Melrose's.

I'd have to say that Ohanas and Le Cellier were the 2 unexpected ones. Had my family of 10 (mostly adults),and all of the meals were excellent, as was our service. My husband thinks that the food at Le Cellier was one of the best he's ever had. And we go out quite often to nice restaurants where we live. California Grill was also good, but that was expected, because of it being a signature restaurant and using 2 vouchers each to eat there. But even then, we still liked Le Cellier better. Overall my family liked Ohanas also because of the good food and the fun atmosphere.

Not so much because of the food, it wasn’t bad though, but because of the atmosphere. We were at WDW with our kids for the first time (DS – 3 and DD – 1). This place really saved our DD. It was around 6:30 PM and she was going through a complete meltdown until the band kicked in. We all had a blast listening to the music and even took them out on the dance floor to polka and do the chicken dance. Our DS also loved the fact that it looked like we were eating outside. Also, I admit I wasn’t crazy of the idea of sharing a table with other people but as luck would have it we were seated next to a couple with 2 little boys. No one was bothered by crying kids or spilt drinks.

There are restaurants that I really enjoyed, but kind of new ahead of time that they had a good rep (Le Cellier, Kona, etc.). We went to Olivia's one night and it was SO GOOD! I was surprised. I wasn't expecting it to be bad, but you just don't hear people raving about it very much. I had a steak salad, which was super fabulous. I had it at dinner, and was actually happy I could get a meal salad at dinner as they are usually served only at lunch in many restaurants.

At for quick service, I really liked the pizza at Pizza Planet at the Studios. I expected it to be "okay", so I'm not sure if I had been deprived of pizza the previous weeks but I really liked the pizza there!
