What really makes you happy at Disney?

Wow! What an amazing thread!

- Watching Wishes from the exit path to BTMRR and lingering as we leave...by the time we have wandered through Frontierland and Adventureland, Main St. is almost empty! A stop at the bakery for a bit of dessert....then we are all alone with the castle.....

- Same thing after Illuminations. Linger at the Japanese pavillion and slowly make our way around the lagoon listening to the Tapestry of Nations parade music...

- Refillable mugs!

- Those incredible Disney moments when a cast member goes out of their way to make you feel as though you are the only, and most important, guest in the park!

- American/Epcot Vybe

- The amazing togetherness that our family feels away from all of the stress and distractions of "real life." Our trips to WDW have become some of our most treasured family moments...... :smickey:

- The list could go on and on......... (maybe more later! ::MickeyMo

Seeing the towering Palm Trees outside of the Orlando airport as we walk to our rental car - total excitement!

Walking the pathways of The Polynesain in the evening amidst the warm Tiki Torches and yummy smells from Ohana.

Laying in bed at night and dreaming of all that the next day will bring.
(Waking up in the morning and knowing that we'll be in the Happiest Place on Earth all day!)

Tonga Toast & the best coffee on property at The Kona Cafe.

Entering MK on that first morning.

Most of all............Making more wonderful memories with my husband & children.

I am always amazed how quickly time passes. But when I look at my 12 year old son walking down main street, I still see that wide eyed three year old who couldn't believe his eyes.

Other than being there means I am not in Nebraska, these are the things that make me happy:

Front seat on Rock N Roller Coaster
The smell of the Florida air when I get off the airplane. (This is my favorite)
Crab legs at Fultons
Seeing Eeyore in England
The ducks that swim with you in the pool at VWL
Watching my husband get his haircut at the MK
The teacups...they are one of my very favorite things.

The list goes on and on...

I know this isnt the most exciting thing, but i really like riding the bus home at night after a fun day at the park and meeting people you dont know and talking about your day and your vacation. :hippie:

the look on my children's faces as we first turn down main street......the smell of the oranges in soaring....the background music playing in each section of MK.....Dole whips.....Paging Mr. Morrow- Mr. Tom Morrow......watching the spectromagic parade (I love that parade!!)........the excitement of finding a hidden mickey....riding the ferry from POR to DTD....Hoop-de-doo.........talking to the cast members (esp. from epcot).....Osborne lights -with the 'snowflakes' (bubbles) falling all around you.......
I can't wait for September!!!! :yay: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc

Getting to the resort and opening the door and thinking 'yes, we're here at last!".

Waiting for the buses early in the morning and talking to other families and seeing what they are doing and sharing tips.

Getting to MK and just standing still for a moment to gaze around.
To hear the music, look for characters close by, to watch the train pull up over head-I get all teary eyed.

Seeing my kids have the best time ever and feeling very close to one another.

DH & I getting signatures and pictures with characters while the kids do the Pirate cruise!! Theye were soooo jealous!! :teeth:

World of Disney!!! Shopping makes me happy too!! ;)

The background music on Main Street!

I have to agree w/most everyone's...one of mine is driving on 95 and seeing the first Walt Disney World billboard and the first WDW exit sign!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

The sign is very special but so is the feelings that I get while I am on Soarin' and Figment's Ride. Besides that, seeing my kids face light up when they know they are about to have the time of their lives.

Watching Wishes with my sister. Even though we live 14 hours away that always makes the trip when we are together.

Walking down main street for the first time on your trip. You notice the sweet smell wafting out of the bakery as you stare up in amazement at the castle, realizing you almost forgot how beautiful it really is. :cloud9:

Fudge from the Main Street confectionary. (The Butterfinger is TO DIE FOR!)

Having my two-year-old say "Let's See Disney World!" every time I get on the computer. She loves the homepage song -- and it makes me cry to see her face!

Breakfast the first morning at Crystal Palace. 8:05 PS always gets us geared up to go.

*Playing the washboard with my DH and DS at the Hoop De Doo.
*The Singing in the Rain umbrella.
*Sitting in a beach chair at the Poly with my toes in the sand and a tropical drink in my hands watching the Electrical Water Pagent and then the fireworks.
*Eating at Cape May and then walking over to the Boardwalk to stroll, play the games and watch the "shows".
*The Hall of Presidents - I always cry.
*Trying to make up my mind at the bakery in France.
*The ferry boat ride into MK - leaving the real world far far behind us.
*Sitting in the rocking chairs in the cool of the night at the Beach Club.
*Planning the next trip on the flight home.

The planning.... :surfweb:

The excitement during our journey there.... :moped:

Finally getting there and realizing that we'll be doing this every year until 2042!!!!! :hyper:  :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :wizard: :woohoo:

Everything! However, what turns on my happy meter is knowing I can now transform to the 8-year-old that is trapped in this 47-year-old body and be a kid while losing myself with my DS 6 and DD 9.

:santa: :santa: Walking slowly around DTD or any one of the parks and hearing Christmas music wafting through the streets.

The anticipation of the old and the new each and every time we are there pixiedust:
