What psychology of mk do you know about?

Yes, because it is right directly under the train station. I agree. There is always that smell. Gets annoying after a while.

Technically, you're smelling an additive -- not the natural gas. Natural gas is virtually odorless, so they add that distinctive scent (this way people can tell when there's a leak).

Find that most everyone enters from the right, thus the strollers, food, etc. Then, upon departing, they exit to the right and have stores, etc. Disney knows how to do it right. Just finished reading Hidden Magic of Disney and it is awesome. 11 more wake-ups and I am home!!!

Its funny:cool1:, we always enter on the left and exit on the right comeing out!

I have a couple little know facts. There are only 2 rugs in existance with the official presidential seal. One is at the White House in the Oval Office(I think) and one is at the Hall of Presidents in Liberty Square.

As for the psychology of the parks my favorite has to be the design of Main Street. While some of the people move to the left the majority stay to the right. The shops pumping smells in the morning on the right of Main Street, then shopping while leaving the park.

Ok, I heard that the MK resorts are juxtopposed to the matching land in MK...For exapmle, Adventureland faces The Polynesian, Main Street faces The Grand Floridian, Tomorrowland faces The Contemporary and Frontierland faces Fort Wilderness!

So all we need now is a Fantasyland Hotel! Wouldn't that be cool? Of course Fantasyland doesn't look out over the lagoon... a hotel with that theme would still be a lot of fun.. but where could it go?

Apparently the in character Disney magic has eaten my brain, because my first thought was "Well of course it isn't there. With all the walking around he does it probably rubbed off."

I'm loving this thread, I just spent the past day reading through it on and off.

That's actually the answer I got when I asked if both Buzz and Woody had Andy's name on their feet somewhere. :D I was told that Buzz and Woody had been loved and played with so much, Andy's name had rubbed off.

This was what they told us on the Keys to the Kingdom tour. They told us it was Walt Disney who did actually did this, so now you will never go too far without encountering a trash can.

They also told us that if you notice the umbrellas at the outdoor tables near the first aid station they are red and white striped, opposed to the yellow and white ones across main street.

i remember learning that on the keys to the kingdom tour too! that tuur was really wonderful! :goodvibes

I think the reason Tey don't have Andy's name on their feet is because they don't belong to Andy... they belong to US...

A Fantasy Land Hotel would = :cloud9:
ohhhh, my wheels are turning right now :rotfl:

Even if they put it there it wouldn't take long before it was faded away in natural wear and tear... ever looked at the bottom of your shoes? They wear quickly - especially given the amount of time a character spends on his feet.

I ran into Woody in Frontierland a few years ago. After asking him if Andy's name was written on the bottom of his boot, I was so disappointed by the shake of his head, his response being "No". For me, that would have been an awesome detail to include with the "costume".

these aren't psychological but they are pretty neat...:goodvibes

Mission Space requires more computers than a NASA space shuttle

the main building of The American Adventure uses reverse forced perspective, making the dimensions larger as you go up, to make the building appear smaller than it really is...The Animatronic show requires a large building, however colonial buildings in the era being reproduced were not as large

there are over 20,000 colors of paint used to paint WDW buildings

To me, the most pervasive psychological aspect (and perhaps the most scary) is the strong, almost psychotic customer loyalty that Disneyphiles exhibit about all things Disney.

It goes beyond preference -- it's practically a syndrome... (no pun intended).

I love being a member of the Disney Cult. :rotfl2:

Could someone recommend books with all this wonderful Disney info?? I am assuming that some people are reading these things in some wonderful book all about the magic of Disney. I would love to get that book or books:goodvibes. Thanks

I think this is right...maybe someone posted this already. I am only on page 5. I don't think AK allows straws in their park. Is this right???? Something to do with the animals and a safety factor.

Check out the Imagineering Field Guides - they have one for each of the parks at WDW (I'm not sure if they have on for the waterparks or DisneyLand though)

As far as I know that's correct. When we stayed at AKL we were told not to bring any plastic straws or balloons onto the property. And all the straws you get at AK are paper. The concept of paper straws was so bizarre to most of my friends that I brought some home for them as cheap souvenirs.

I remember when MOST straws were paper. It was unusual to get plastic straws. Your post made me feel OLD, thanks, I needed that, NOT.
