What perks would YOU like to see?

They couldn't keep kids out of Pleasure Island. I can't imagine how they would keep them out of the theme parks, even if only for one night.

That is only because they opened the turnstiles to everyone vs. building a decent walkway to connect Westside and Marketplace.

the post is running out of steam....but there are some great suggestions.

All we can hope is that the powers that be read the ideas and decide to implement one or two. The fast pass, or special DVC night at each park once in a while would be easiest. The ticket, dining or merchandise discount would be the best :)

We just got back from a two day quickie stay off property (the parks were absolutely jammed) and had a pretty good time. We would have loved to stay on property, but EVERYTHING was booked solid!

All I'd like to see is Disney reward the DVCr's for their loyalty. We will be lavishing gobs of money on them for the next 35+ years :)

Our best to all!

if Disney was to grant a few things from our wish list....what would be your top three choices?

Mine are:

1) 20% Discount on non AP tickets

2) 20% merchandise discounts

3) 25% dining discounts

Let me hear what your top three are!

O.K. I am loving the idea of the refillable DVC mugs and I would love a dining plan discount since we can't qualify for free dining if we are staying on points!! At least if they did that more people may dine out instead of cooking or eating in the villas?

I might actually try the DDP then!:goodvibes As it is now, I just don't feel it would be a good value for us. I feel I would have to gorge myself to get the value out of it!

It takes too many people to deliver packages to the actual rooms, plus keys to get into all those rooms. Thus pick up at the resort store instead.

Be careful what you wish for. They could do a combined AP for WDW and DL. And make it cost the combination of a DL and WDW AP without the water parks, etc.

That wouldn't really be a value. You can get a DVC discount for a DL AP as it is. What would be the incentive?

It seems to me like some of the discounts only benefit certain groups. Such as 100 off AP. I don't live close enough to take advantage of this. I believe another one was an AP for both WDW and DL.

Many suggestions do take all DVCer's into account. Such as discounts on merchandise, DDP, fastpass, and a few others.

DVC members are a large portion of income for Disney. Rather than dream here, and hope Disney is paying attention. We could select just one or two logical perks, and then as a whole present that to DVC. Then we could actually see something happen.

Current DVC members are the cheapest advertising that DVC receives. We can be a voice if united to a comon goal. (Sounds corney, but is accurate.)

If I had my drothers, I like the following suggestions. Again, to make this happen, we'd need to select no more than two perks.

  1. Discount on Park Hopper Passes
  2. ADR's more than 90 days. You don't need 30, but you need enough days to make sure all DVC members have an opportunity to call. So call it 120.
  3. Merchandise discount of 15-20% at all WDW shopping.
  4. Fastpass selection such as 1 or 2 fastpasses per member's party. Honestly, just 1 member of your party would be better than nothing.
I have included more than 2. This is to provide options. Is there a group that represents DVC members? If not, then one should be formed. That would be the first step in our ability to achieve better perks.

Just my 2 cents.

we found out on our last two trips that the same mug is being used by all the resorts including the DVC. I guess until they change them that you can use yours anywhere.

I live much farther away than you and take full advantage of the AP discount! We get two trips out of our AP, but if you only go about every other year then it doesn't make sense. I think they it would be great to give discounts for both AP's and PH's!

No, you are only supposed to use them at the resort you bought them during the trip you purchased the mug.

Free icecream! I want to be able to go to the viewing center at SSR each trip and have a yummy bowl of icecream! One day a week, like Wednesday, there could be a DVC icecream social!

I'd like to see free private jet and 24-hour limo services, as well as a dedicated massage therapist for each villa.

But if we got those things, we would hear complaints that they wouldn't let Aunt Gertie - who's staying in a trailer park offsite - use them!

I'll settle for clean rooms.

Yes my point was that we live too far away to take advantage of multiple times a year. If you go more than once per year, then you get your value out of AP.

I would love the longer ADR window and a couple of extra fastpasses. These wouldn't cost Disney much, would they?

And do I remember seeing something about there being a special Illuminations viewing area for DVC members on certain nights? This was from quite a while back...it sounds like an easy way to build DVC loyalty.

Well, I'm too, too far away (one way:20 hours over 2 days) and was able to plan yearly trips 11 months apart over 2 calander years (to get 2 trips on one annual pass). But my most recent trip was on hoppers only, and I gotta tell you, AP trips are much, much nicer! With an AP I did not mind going into a park for just dinner and a ride (after an AM at the pool) With hoppers, I felt I had to make a full day of it, and it was not as relaxing a trip. Plus while your AP is active you might find youself doing a quick WDW getaway for "just" the cost of airfaire and food! (you already got points and tickets!)

While my wallet would of enjoyed discounted MYW tickets this trip, they would not give me the more deluxe experience of an AP. To me MYW vs AP is like going to a noisy food court to get my morning java vs brewing my own pot in room and sipping it on my private balcony.
Perhaps they need to re-visit the length of stay passes...

now we have ADR's 120-180 days out as a primary choice perk, discounted PH passes, private jets, free massage services.....

I think the ADR's and discounted PH's are doable and the DVC fast passes are a no brainer.

I can see it now, as a result of DVC member requests, we have enhanced the membership experience by buying Jim Lewis a new private jet! ;)

Yeah, I guess I better be careful what I ask for!!!

is "supposed to". When we stayed at POR lat January we saw people using mugs from YEARS ago.

When we picked up our new Refillable Mugs (yeah! quick serve DP) the cashier at the Mara at AKL said "Now, you know you can use these at all of the Disney resorts, and whenever you come back, it's good for lifetime refills."

I kid you not.
