I would consider what I get from my dial-type scale to be an estimate at best. I can get on it 6 times in a row and get 6 different readings. If I lean back on my heels I'm 5 lbs lighter! And tenths of a pound!!??!! Fuggetaboutit!!

So what kind of scale do you have and could you please tell me how much it cost you??

THANKS!!

I have a balance scale (like Dr. uses), so I can weigh to the 1/4 lb. No matter how many times I get on it, it reads the same amount (darnit).

I bought mine used from WW a few years ago for $30.00.

I have a digital one and is usually pretty accurate. Sometimes to accurate, when it goes up

Dorothy,
I have a Tanita scale. It's digital and does body fat %. I love it's accuracy! (I weighed myself, then drove straight to the doctor and weighed. Same numbers. :) ) I found mine at Sports Authority on sale @ $40.

I also have a "Balance Scale" its about 10-12 years old, and I like how it weighs. My DH paid 40 for it at a thrift store.:o

Mine is like yours. I get on it and it will be the same once or twice and then it changes. Its really frustrating. Its only a year old too. One day I will get a good one. That is why I definately prefer getting my "official" weigh in at WW's.

I have a set of doctors scales "balance" that we bought about 5 years ago from a home health supply place i remember it being over 300 i think 330 was about it.

Thanks for the answers. I'd love to have a balance scale. Last time I was at the doctor (last week) I asked her if I could come in once a week to weigh myself. It was not well-received, although they have a scale in a hallway, PLUS others in a couple of the rooms. I thought her response was odd....considering losing weight would be good for my health!

Anyhow, I think I'm going to look for a Tanita, like geetey has. I've looked around on the net and they seem like a good one.

Thanks again!!

I hope you have success with your search, Dorothy! I am sorry about your doctor :( That does seem odd since they want you to lose weight! My doctor's office is open to me stopping by whenever to weigh in.

Just a $5.00 scale from Target. We had a digital and I HATED IT (so did DH). The number would never stay still, so we never knew what we weighed.

This scale is fine! ;) It's just the dial kind. While one of us weighs, the other bends over to check the number (poor us, it's hard to read the scale on our own at our age!) ;) So if it's right on the line, we are whatever that weight is. If it's in the middle of two numbers, were at a .5 reading, and if it's closer to one than the other, we are either X.25 or X.75. :)
