What is your least favourite resort, and why?

On aesthetics alone, Caribbean Beach. It just looks like any average condo complex in Florida or parts of SoCal.

Least faves:
All Stars- just not my vibe
BWV-just a bad experience all around and really not impressed with the room. Also, loud.
OKW-Reminds me of a condo complex.

Faves: AKV Kidani and Jambo.
CSR
Poly
Wilderness Lodge
BLT

I’m sorry - My least favorite is the Grand Floridian. It’s just way too big and busy to truly be a luxury resort. It’s saving grace is it’s next to the Magic Kingdom and has a lot of dining options. But it just feels like a vacation and wedding factory. It also has a weird crowd - lots of “people like me only stay at the best & most expensive and Disney says this is the best & most expensive so here I am.”

Least favorite Value: All of the All Stars but mostly Sports

Least favorite Moderate: Caribbean Beach

Least favorite Deluxe: Animal Kingdom Lodge

Overall Least favorite: Caribbean Beach
oh my really? i love animal kingdom. its not my absolute favorite since now there are newer resorts but its still one i would book.

love riviera and copper creek. my faves..... i dont love saratoga though. just seems alone and far and not very much going on.
I love those resorts too. But I also love Saratoga Springs. It’s the better of the 2 big “campus” DVCs (SS/OKW) by a mile. It is very close to Disney Springs (walk or boat), has a nice restaurant AND it’s actually the ONLY Disney golf resort on property. The clubhouse of LBV is in the back of the main building (1st and 10th tees, pro shop, cart and bag room, snack bar, range). Some holes run through OKW but that is not at all the same thing. You can’t start a round or practice at OKW, it’s just scenery. If they are never going to reopen the spa, rename the place Saratoga Springs Golf Resort and call it a day.

You are not alone, so many people love AKL. It's just not for me. My favorite resorts are Beach Club, Contemporary, Polynesian...I love a resort within walking distance to a park and AKL just isn't it. It's sort of close to AK but obviously not walkable, but really far from all other parks.

Just my personal preference and truly no hate to AKL because it is beautiful and kind of cool to see the animals outside but for me that novelty wears off fairly quickly.

It's really not as far away as many think. It's obviously not walkable, but AKL is only 4.5 mi from DHS, 5.6 mi from EPCOT and the longest is 6.2 mi from MK. It's no difference than going from BC to MK or AK parks. Just saying.

Hands down, least favourite: Poly. Rude cast members, guests who were tossing their kids into the quiet pool practically landing on top of me, paper thin walls, monorail breakdowns, terrible bus service to other parks, food kind of meh. No desire to return. I get why people do love it, and I wanted to love it. In fact it was on our bucket list - still glad we tried it and now we know.

Favourite deluxe: AKV, followed by SSR (I know it's spread out, but both my DH and I love to walk from DS to our room), BWV, BCV and OKW.

Favourite moderate: POFQ. Least favourite moderate: POR. I know they're side-by-side, but we love the charming feel of POFQ and those beignets!!

Haven't stayed at any values so can't comment on that.

The one resort I haven't been at is Beach club. I love boardwalk, so i need to try that one as well. Everyone talks about the pool there.

Only stayed in Deluxe/Villas during discounts.

1st stay YC (2017): 3 stars. Visited BC, 3 stars. Way too many unruly minors running around there. The highlight was after 5pm - close the pool, lazy river, slide was a ghost town. Lifeguards were so friendly and played Disney question games during this time. They also practiced their ongoing training during this time so that was fun to see as well. Crews Cup Lounge & B&C to-go were winners. It was a great perk to stay close by during F&W.

2nd Stay BRV (2024) 5 stars. Visited WL: 4 stars. Very peaceful and relaxing. Food was outstanding. Probably the best food options within a resort. Definitely looking forward to the Lakeshore Lodge opening! Highly recommend. Visited Poly during our 1st & 2nd stay for Ohana. 2 stars. Hotel way too crowded & overwhelming for us. It was even rough finding parking. I know we will never stay there. GF is way out of our budget even with discounts offered & CR we have no interest in due to theming & ongoing issues, so we won't visit or stay.

3rd stay Grand Californian (2025): 4 stars. Walking straight into DCA and steps aways from DL. Very nice! Made afternoon breaks a breeze. Food was good too. Almost mirrored WL. Highly recommend. Love the longer park hours too.

4th stay SSR (2025): not rated yet. Read mixed reviews. Seems there's some hate there. Booked due to availability, location, & it's good to try something new, right? Our prior trips to WDW resulted us always not making it to Disney Springs. This time it's the plan to hit up some Disney Springs eateries. Plus, only going to EP & AH DHS since we're going to Universal for the first time ever.

We ultimately prefer the DVC Bedroom Villas due to full size fridge for drinks and ready to eat fruit/snacks, washer/dryer in unit, dishes/utensil/microwave for leftovers. TBH I'm so not cooking on vacay. We do love the home away from home feel and bigger space. We don't like any of Disney's transportation. Way too much of a time sinker. We'll walk or have a car.

Future Bucket List: Aulani Villas, Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas, & Lakeshore Lodge Villas.
