I'm thinking about getting one and I thought that the tux wearing PM was the newest, but now I'm seeing Sorcerer Mickey out and about. Is he the newest one?

THANKS!!!:thumbsup2

nevermind...found my own answer...Sorcerer Mickey IS the new one. Not that anyone was even remotely interested!:surfweb::lmao:

Don't be too hard on yourself - I had the exact same question and hadn't gotten around to asking so THANK YOU, LOL.

If I get one, I'll find a used one on eBay and I had no idea what I was looking for. But, I know I really don't need one more thing to carry around!

If you can get one cheaper on Ebay, I'd do that....because the clothes dont' really matter. The Sorcerer outfit is cute....but you'll be able to get other outfits when there if you'd rather he have something else. (I'd get at least the rain slicker...it's too cute!)

We can't talk about the clothes my guy has....but he does have his own little suitcase...:rolleyes1

Certified Pal Mickey nut that I am.....;)

Honestly I had no idea there was such a "cult following" shall we say of dear Pal Mickey!! There are websites dedicated to what clothes he can wear, where to find clothes that will fit him...patterns to MAKE him clothes...meet and greet gatherings planned around Pal Mickey and his grown up owners!!! There is no end to the adoration of Pal Mickey!!!

I wonder if they will ever do a Pal Minnie!!! I hope so!!! Because I don't have enough Mickey and Minnie stuff as it is...

I think I've found another cult to join...:woohoo: :rotfl:

What websites did you find for Pal Mickey? I found Palmickey.net...is there another one?

I've altered some sewing patterns to get clothes that fit...because some of the outfits at WDW aren't the be-all-end-all. But I'd love to be able to just buy other things, because the sewing thing is hard....and it's even harder to find the right material sometimes!

Yup, official member of the Pal Mickey cult....I mean club....Yeah, I'm a 41 year old with an 11" stuffed mouse who talks....;)

I had no idea that they now had clothes for Pal Mickey! Is there a place to see what is offered and can you only buy at the parks or can things be ordered ahead of time?

Thanks!
Mary

There is Rain poncho (with boots), a Safari outfit, a "tourist" outfit (t-shirt, hat and waist pack), a Santa outfit, and a Pirate Outfit. There was a pin trading outfit, but it's been discontinued. You can call Disney and order most of them ahead of time, I believe. I think they are all $12 and are sold in the parks where Mickey is sold. The Pirate outfit and the Santa outfit are a bit harder to find, but if you look you'll find them. I found the Pirate outfit in the Grand Floridian's gift shop, and the Santa outfit was in most shops also. The Pin Trader outfit I found on Ebay.

You can also find other clothes that fit him if you are careful...he's 11" but he has a little bit different proportions than an average teddy bear. I know that I picked up a jean jacket at AC Moore's last week that fits pretty well.

Enjoy!

I have seen many posts about Pal Mickey being too quiet. So quiet that you have to put him up to your ear to hear what he says. Has this been improved with the newer ones? I am considering getting one but that is my hold up. It seems that more than 1 person would want to hear what he has to say.

I was traveling with my older sister in January and whenever he shook, I would squeeze his tummy to hear what he'd have to say and my sister always heard him too....and most of the time she was next to me, but in an ECV. I would hold him up, but he didn't have to be next to my ear by any means for us to hear him. Actually, I thought he was loud sometimes.

My Pal Mickey wouldn't work on our latest trip Feb/07, he would only vibrate! The CM at AK said he needed new batteries. She proceeded to tell me they only had Lithium Batteries at their store. She put them in, and Mickey worked fine. The next day, NOTHING! We were at Epcot, and we went into the first store on the right (right at the ball). I told him my predicament and he said,"Tell me you didn't put Lithium batteries in him?" I told him I didn't but a CM did at AK. He put in new batteries and he worked for about 5 more minutes. The next day we went to MK, and again Pal Mickey wouldn't work! We went to the store on Main St. right beside Uptown Jewellers where they sell Pal Mickey. The CM took Mickey apart, put new batteries in him again, reprogrammed his nose, and nothing. I again explained my dilemma over the past few days starting with the CM changing the batteries at AK. She said that you can NEVER put Lithium Batteries in Pal Mickey, because they're too strong and they short circuit him! She took him in the back for a few minutes, and came back saying that since it was due to an error of a CM, they were giving me a new Pal Mickey! We had the original one from the first year, so now we have Sorcerer Mickey. His outfit comes off to look just like regular Pal Mickey. So let it be a lesson to you! I went back to AK and told the CM who changed the batteries and told her about Lithium Batteries and Pal Mickey. She apologized profusely and was thankful that I came back to her to tell her.

That is so great that you received a new Pal Mickey!!! That just goes to show you that Disney does care and they do their best to rectify mistakes when they can!!!

I'll definitely keep in mind the "No Lithium" batteries thing. That would be awful! Poor pal mickey getting his little brain short circuited!!!

Well....I planned on starting a thread asking whether or not I should buy a Pal Mickey for my DD7. We toured last year w/o him & it was great. Does he really add that much to your day? What's the thrill of having him? How much does he weigh & how big is he? (Those are my main two questions.) Also, is it ok to buy one from ebay? How will I know it's a real Pal Mickey? What will I need to do to get him programmed? Obviously, I have a lot of questions, but since there are so many 'club' members here, I'm sure you have the answers!

He's a mid size stuffie. We lent him out to a family last year and they brought home a lanyard for him to be carried on, which I found better than the standard clip that he comes with. I've read here lots of people that have purchased him on E-bay. I'd say make sure the box and instruction manual are available to make sure he's authentic. Don't worry about programming him, he'll program himself as you walk into each park. We did get a tip this trip we didn't know. You should shut him off prior to leaving the park. We've always left him on and shut him off on the bus , or back at the hotel. He'll let you know if lines are low at any rides, where characters are if they are off the beaten path, like AK.
We enjoy him.
