Well for me it was back in January. My cousin and I were waiting for the train at the Main st. Station. There was a large family waiting behind us. Presumably The Grandmother of the group turns to one of the people with her and asks if they had seen the commercials on the TV for " that Blizzard Beach", and Then asked if that was real snow. We laughed about the rest of our trip!

The other day on test track two kids:

"You know, its fun hanging out with girls but sometimes you feel like a pimp, its always good to have some guy talk."

"Yeah I like to sometimes imagine in my head that i'm just sitting with friends and chattin."

While grabbing a snack in DHS last year. We watched a father pushing a stroller and trying to get his older son (about 7 yr old) to walk calmly along side him.

After a minute of the father pleading we heard him yell "knock it off right now or we'll go to EPCOT" :rotfl: What a threat! Wish my parents would have threatened me with such a dire punishment.

These are great guys! i was laughing so hard I was crying especially about chatting in his head.

We were at the entrance at DHS and then 2 girls (somewhere in there 20's) walked up to a castmember saw the nametag and the Disney Logo and they were going like: "Isn't this Universal??":scared1::scared1:

Another story that cracked us up for the rest of the vacation and even still at this point we use the sentence that was spoken....
It was not in the parks but at one of the Nike outlet stores on 192.

Emiel was fitting some clothes in the fitting room and i was waiting outside next to some tables with discounted shoes on them.
At one point a couple (also in there 20's) walked up to one of the tables and the guy went crazy about some Nike shoes he really loved them. They were $20 and the girls said: "honey if you really really want them just buy them and then i will return my sunglasses."

So every time we would like to buy something we say to eachother, that sentence.

On the bus one late night, on the way back to The Dolphin from the MK, I overheard two girls, probably in their late teens, talking about all the rides they loved today.

They were raving about everything until the subject of POTC came up.

"That ride didn't make any sense at all, I couldn't follow it", said one of the girls.

"Then again", she added, "I've never seen the movie so that's probably why !"

:lmao:

This was funny but touching. We were in the cue for TOT and as were were walking through the dark basement part, a little girl (5 or 6 years old) holding her daddy's hand, looks up at him and says "Daddy, are we going to die?". She was looking at him with such trust in her eyes that it pulled at my heartstrings.

What kills me is the lack of preparation many folks do for a Disney trip. Now, I understand that we here on the DIS are crazy about our planning and love of Disney, and I don't expect everyone to be like that. But on the other hand, I am just SHOCKED that people drop thousands of dollars on a family vacation and do absolutely ZERO research.

These 3 are just from my Dec. trip:

--I was standing outside of Mousgears (on the Test Track side) and there is a sign there with arrows pointing to a variety of different Epcot attractions. A woman walks by and says, "What's World Showcase?" REALLY??? Like, you couldn't have done 5 minutes worth of research on the internet? Or read one of the many guidebooks?

--In Magic Kingdom, waiting for Philharmgic, parents with 2 kids, Mom says "What does this ride DO?" Dad answers, "I don't know, but I have a fasty thing for it." :confused3 They had their guide maps with them. Can they not read very clearly that it is a SHOW? Oy.

--Also in MK, 2 young adult males, "Hey, let's head over to Space Mountain and hang out with the Yeti!" Um, Yetis in space, ok....

And this was just ONE trip! :rotfl2:

Like others, my friends and I then spent the rest of the trip just asking each other "What does this ride DO?" and "What is World Showcase???" At least their igorance gave us many, many laughs!

I heard a guy with a family ask a female CM at the Norway pavilion if it was true that it took 'like 11 months to have a baby in Norway as it's like so cold and stuff?'

We were watching the Christmas Storyteller in Japan when a little girl was acting up, not bad, but the typical annoying stuff that kids do that push the parents over the edge (I've been there many times). The mother yelled at the girl "If you keep this up I'm gonna make your bottom as red as Ariel's hair!". :lmao: I had to turn away I was laughing so hard.

A couple trips ago in Toontown at MK I heard a little boy ask him mom when they were going to see Snoopy and she told him she didn't think they had Snoopy here, just Mickey Mouse, Minnie, Donald Duck, BUGS BUNNY and Goofy. :rotfl:

When I went to Disneyland a few years for it's 50th birthday, I overheard a comment that nearly had me double over, but my friend didn't hear it.

Now, it helps if you have seen Pinocchio, and you know about Monstro the whale. When you walk by the Storybookland Canal boat ride at Disneyland, you walk past a huge replica of Monstro.

Well this father tells his young son, "That's the whale that swallowed Jonah."

Heh.

My friend had her own moment in Animal Kingdom, and I just love the visual I got when she told me. She was in the Maharajah Jungle Trek and overheard someone say, "Let's go see the tigers. You know, just like Chaka Khan from 'The Jungle Book'."

Can't you picture the tigers wearig gold lamé outfits? :rotfl2:

Okay, this is ME! Well, not me that you heard, as I am in my 30's and travel with my dad....but I totally don't get POTC. I, too, thought the ride was based on the movie (I've since learned the ride came first), but I don't get either of them. I just don't get the whole pirate thing. :confused3

However, I do try to keep my opinions to myself while at Disney least my comments end up on these boards! :lmao:

This could have been my DD.:rotfl:

We were there in Feb. and my DH and DD6 rode this together. My DH said my DD was worried she was going to die.
I was waiting for them with my younger DD.

Were you there in Feb?

Oh, that is so funny that your DD and Dh had that same conversation, but no we weren't there this past Feb. This happened about 2 years ago and I was what touched me the most was the total faith she had in her dad.
Did you DD end up liking the ride?

These are so funny!

BTW, Joshua_me...hi neighbor! I'm from Sarasota and live now in North Port :)
