What is the biggest boo-boo you commit at Disney???

Do NOT wrap up an evening of 'drinking your way around the world' with a quick trip to Mars on Mission Space Orange.

Ok, I haven't done that, but I would seriously hate to have to share a spaceship with someone who had. :scared:

Make sure you check your room safe before you check out!

Amen! That was my mistake on our very first trip - I left my wallet in our room safe and didn't realize until we were boarding the ME for the airport. Dh stayed behind and through an amazing act of fate was able to get my wallet because the next room occupants had checked in and were in the room (I guess they don't allow you back into the room after you have checked out if someone else has it booked). Lovely Disney comped dh's taxi to the airport as we had gone ahead and left on the ME....he actually made it to the airport before we did!

Then, we go last December and take light jackets and stretchy gloves. BUT, we had to call home for WINTER clothes to be mailed down to us (thermal underwear type stuff)!!! It was unusually cold and windy for most of our trip.

Was that your 2007 trip? We were there Dec. 2007 and it was very cold (for FL!)....never been so thankful I'd brought along a jacket. But we ended up buying jackets for both my mom and dd....

Don't wear the shortest shorts you own to the parks, especially when it's hot and humid. I did this, thinking it would keep me cool. Well, I was sweating a ton and my legs were rubbing together when I was walking and I ended up with these awful open, bleeding sores on the insides of my legs. I didn't think it would happen because normally my legs don't even touch when I walk, but I guess when you're all sweaty they do...So anyway, I couldn't even walk out of Epcot after Illuminations. I had to be taken out in one of the courtesy wheelchairs. Then we spent an hour at Target at 11 pm getting me some longer shorts and body glide. And it was only our 1st day.
Also, don't forget to drink lots of water. I got dehydrated one day at MK and ended up passing out at the Monorail station after Wishes waiting to get back to the TTC. My parents had dropped my best friend and me off at the park and were picking us up later, so they weren't there. My poor friend had no idea what to do, but luckily some kind woman saw the whole thing and helped us get back to meet my dad at pick up. It's amazing how nice people can be, though, especially after all that stress of getting out of MK after Wishes. Someone got me a wheelchair and people let us through to the front of the line to get on the Monorail. A kind CM booked it back into the shop in front of the park and got me tons of water. I thought I had been drinking enough water, but when you're walking all day and it's hot and humid, you can never drink enough.

Making ADRs! LOL!! Now we just hit or miss and it makes no difference to us..in fact it's an adventure to see where we can wind up.

I do love the feet/shoe comments throughout! It took us years to learn about mole skin. :rotfl:

Amen to that! On a related note, don't tell family about your trip until the week before you leave so they don't go behind your back and book a trip for the same time at the same hotel!!!

It's too late for me. I hope others read this!!! :scared1:

Never put "brand new" Mickey ears on your baby who is sitting in its stroller and then exit the park at midnight. Our DD fell fast asleep and her head must have dropped, the Mickey ears fell off, and we noticed it as we took her out of the stroller to put her in her carseat at the car. "Hey....where did her new Ears go???"..........oh yeah, back at the MK on Main Street being trampled as we speak.....#$@$!"

Not making ADR's...went to Disneyland Paris several years ago with my then BF, during the morning we tried to book a table for dinner, turned out everywhere was fully booked!
My husband thought I was mad as I've starting to look at resturants for our trip to WDW next year so we could make reservations well in advance, until I told him that story and he quickly changed his mind!

I was so embarrassed standing in line to buy a 25$ Minnie watch and my card being declined. I knew I had the money. Lesson learned!

I actually looked up my receipt last night (cause I have nothing better to do, you know. lol). It was for $16!!!!! $16 and my card was declined!!! :rotfl:

Just goes to show you....all those little charges throughout the day in another state and my bank just shut me down. :thumbsup2 Maybe I should avoid the margarita stand next time......I think that was 3 of my charges that day! Just kidding (but it was one of the charges!).

I'm bad about inadvertently walking into other peoples' photographs.

To be clear, I'm not the type who would try to block foot traffic between me and my subject, 20 feet away, to get that "once-in-a-lifetime" photo of BFF in front of Spaceship Earth, so it just never occurs to me that someone else would try to do that.

So to all those I've inadvertently photobombed, I apologize.

Don't get stranded at another resort after the monorail stops running at night in your bathing suit. Just trust me on this.

Always- I mean ALWAYS- make sure if you have your credit and debit card drawn on the same account, that you have some pre-paid VISAs with you to be safe. Our credit union decided to do some upgrades on computers and both mine and DH's cards were denied, except for the ATMs. After the first tickets was bought at check-in, we couldn't charge the other 2 park hoppers. 48 hours later, the bank finally came up on line. WDW made it great for us- the credit union heard an earful when I got back.

Love it. We make one or two must-have ADRs. The rest we play by ear and see what we can get on walk-ups. We call it "restaurant roulette"- spin the dial and see what you get. Generally, it ends up being La Cava del Tequila...

See my above posts- Mexico Pavillion- here we come!

Viva la Cava!!! Andale!!

We've been going there since it opened. The past 2 trips have always had a bartender named Francisco. Great guy but I cannot help it...I always think of Elf (with Will Ferrell) when he walks into the office and meets the workers. One is named Francisco and he starts going ..."Francisco. FRANcisco. ooooh, that's fun to say. FRANNNNNNNcisco." So needless to say, after a couple of margareeeeetaaaaas, I start going..."FRANcisco. That's fun to say."

I then proceed to crack up while Franciso looks at me with a blank stare.

Another warning about covering the strollers.

We had an early dinner reservation at Crystal Palace before hopping over to DHS to see the Osborne Lights. It was cloudy when we went in, but we were in a bit of a rush (not much) but enough because we watched the whole parade first. I parked the stroller and went inside. It poured during our meal and since I was alone with my two small children I could only watch as the stroller got drenched and I had to carry my son (thank God for the Ergo carrier) and push an empty stroller around the rest of the night. Had it not been for the hotel room hair dryer, it still would have been wet the next day. The only other time it got cloudy that week we were in AK. I covered it every time we parked. It rained buckets while were indoors at Rafiki's rain forest, but the stroller was dry when we got back to it. :cool1:

On that note, have ponchos in advance. I bought ours there and the rain stopped just as I paid. :headache:

Check your paperwork when leaving.

After doing resort airline check-in, having breakfast in the food court and getting us all ready and out to the Magical Express line on time for our 9am departure from ASMo, I realized I left our bus passes in the room. The bus was there and loading and the driver after hearing I had to go back said he would not wait. :confused3 So, it was me, my 7 year-old and 10 month old to make the mad dash back to the room. I left my son's carseat bag with the CM and off we went. My son was in his Ergo and giggled the entire time while I ran trying to keep his head from moving too much. My daughter kept up as well as she could. Thankfully it was well before check-out time and the KTTW still worked. I don't think we moved that fast the whole week. Bus was almost done loading when we returned. :woohoo:

If you are bringing in infant or toddler under 3, know they DO count when making dining reservations. I was so happy to get everything I wanted as I didn't know our dates until 3 months before our trip and it ended up being Thanksgiving week. Well gleefully reading this board one day I was horrified when I realized I should have counted my son who would be 10 months old when we went in making our reservations. :headache:

At the time I wasn't thinking about fire codes and such. I needed character meals dangit! :rotfl: Guess who had to call Disney Dining practically every single day up until we left trying to modify 6 dining reservations. Did I mention it was Thanksgiving week? Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, Tusker House, Akershus, Holly Wood and Vine and 1900 Park Fare, so with the exception of HollyWood and Vine, not exactly easy reservations to get. Was about to give up on Akershus when I finally got a lunch reservation. I think the CM almost started crying too.

I read about the bank stuff before we went the last time. It was a lot of fun loading Disney Gift cards before our last trip.

I actually had my Disney Visa card declined a few years ago while trying to pay for my vacation! It was an "odd" charge they said and so it went on fraud alert. At that time the nice Visa lady said to make sure that I called before I left for Florida. And I always tell them that I am driving so there will be charges in numerous states, not just FL.

Don't get me started on the fraud thing WRT credit cards. OMG, it was horrible the last time we moved! I called them many, many times to let them know that we had moved, and were living in a hotel until we bought a house, and my darn cards were declined almost everyday! It was such a huge PITA. I couldn't even get gas for the car. And this went on for MONTHS. It was so frustrating. It never used to be this bad when we PCSed, but I guess they have cracked down over the years.

My biggest mistake every trip is staying up too late (swimming, or at the parks) and then trying to get up early most mornings to get the parks by opening. It just becomes too much for the kids and for us. But I love the night swims and the shows, and I love being there for park opening, so I am never sure what to give up! Still working on this... we are returning in December only because I promised my husband that we would have more down time. My current schedule is a park every other day.
