Is Haunted Mansion close enough to Splash or Thunder Mountain to run there first and get a FP or technically is it closer to Fantasyland where we should just do it from there first and then go to Frontierland after Haunted Mansion. Looking at it from a map, it is just kind of sitting out there alone wasn't sure what it is closer to?

Hard to believe, but as Crazy Kanga said, its right at the "back door" to Fantasyland.

The closest FL attractions to it are Peter Pan and its a small world.

In the other direction you'll find the loading dock for the Liberty Square Riverboat and the Hall of Presidents.

It's closer to Fantasyland. You could easily FP Peter Pan and then do Small World and Haunted Mansion.

On the other hand, it's not that far to SM and BTMR either. If SM is more important to you, it's not that far of a walk back to HM.

That is where I think FP is hard, because if we FP Peter Pan, we would have to wait 2 hours for SM or TM. So, wouldn't it be better to not use the FP for Peter Pan and use it for the bigger thrill rides with longer waits?

Peter Pan often has a longer stand by line than any of the bigger rides-especially if you go during school time when the parks tend to be full of family with pre-schoolers.

I'm pretty sure I read here that there is no Fast Pass at the Haunted Mansion any more. I don't think I saw the machines when we were there at Christmas.

We were just there and didn't see any Fast Pass machines there. On our last trip, they were still there, but not in use because they were not consistently busy enough to make sense to use them. I think I read on the DIS boards that they had moved the HM Fast Pass machines to some other attraction that had longer waits.

The HM fast pass machines are still there but I have not seen them used for over a year.

For the most part the wait at HM has not been more than 20 minutes. (yes, there have been times where it was more)

I'm not sure about the "2 hour wait" with the FP.
The wait between FP distribution would depend on the time of day and the date you were there.

As far as that two hour wait goes...to the best of my knowledge, there is only a bit over an hour wait before you can get another FP now. It used to be two hours though. Now, you can actually hold two FPs at the same time. It will say right on the FP at what time you can get another one.

I didn't realize that. So, as long as you wait until the time says, if you are not ready to go on the first fastpass you are holding you can go get another and then have two? I heard somewhere that if you do not get there in time for your fastpasst time, it is okay if you get there after that, you can still stand in the FP line?

That's correct.

There can be (very rare) exceptions.

Soarin' can sometimes get so busy that the entrance CM will not allow this, but I had no problems using expired (same-day) FP's on Soarin' two different days earlier this year (and yes, it was very busy.)

EE, being the hot new ride, may have similar "no expired FP's allowed" situations, but, in ANY case, ANY FP ride, its always up to the CM who is attending/loading the FP line to decide.

Currently in MK, I doubt that you'd ever encounter a problem.
