:p do you need a PS for it?

We are going to WDW for our first Dec. trip 12-16. We have MVMCP tickets fthe 14th:bounce: :bounce: . I keep reading about the CP and am not sure what it is. Any info and links would be appreciated. Since their are no Osborne Light the CP may be a good substitute.

Thanks:p

Well the CP is no Osborne lights but it is a very beautiful show. It is in Epcot, and at the American Adventure stage. It is a combination of area high school chorus's that sing great holiday songs, not just carols. There is usuall a guest narrator who is a famous person. He narrates the story of Jesus while the combined chorus sings. The chorus's are dressed oin white robes and each holding a candle. It is quite the pagentry and very well done. Of course the singing is beautiful. I am a bit biased, as my son is in this. Many people come from all around to witness this show, and you do not need PS. You should make time to see it, you won't be sorry.:)

The Candlelight Processional at Epcot is one of my favorite Christmas events at WDW......It really puts you in the mood for Christmas. Here's a link: (2002 info)

Candlelight Processional

I've always bought the dinner package, because it guarantees a seat, plus a 15% discount at the Epcot shops that day.......With no Osborne Lights this year, I think more people will be going to the Candlelight Processional, & the dinner packages could be sold out early.....Hopefully, they won't raise the prices too much this year-------

Does anyone remember when the CP Dinner Package went on sale last year??

The Candlelight Processisonal is definitely worth it!! Listening to the celebrity narrator tell the story of Christ's birth is amazing! The singing is wonderful!!

We've been three times and LOVE it!!! We always do the package which includes dinner at a World Showcase (since we always eat at one of the restaurants anyway). We've eaten at Canada twice and France once.

My family really enjoys this show - its a "must do" for us! We're going to miss it this year; we're trying MNSSHP for the first time!

Last year they went on sale in late August.

During the first 2 weeks of the month during the week, you can usually get a standby seat by getting in line 30 to 45 minutes ahead of time. Weekends and closer to Christmas are a longer wait. If you are going to have a nice dinner anyway, I would go with the package. We have done it twice at LeCellier and the cost of the package is about the same as the dinner, plus you get the reserved seats and the 15% shopping discount.

You're right...CP is 10 million times better than Osborne lights! :) :)

While Osborne is a spectacle, it is also rather garish and except for the very beginning, is a much more secular holiday event. The Candlelight Processional is a very moving, very beautiful, very traditional sort of holiday pagent telling the story of Christmas using passages from Christian scriptures and wonderful Christmas music. If you want something that deals with the true meaning of Christmas, then CP is the show for you.

You do not need to do the CP dinner package, but if you are planning to dine in a sit-down restaurant in Epcot anyway and will be doing some shopping there, it isn't a bad value.

I totally agree.
If you don't get PS, just be advised the stand by line is veeeeeeeeeery long.

We did CP last year for the 1st time and loved it. With the dinner package you are guaranteed a seat and you sit right up front. This was great for our kids cause they were fascinated with the percussion section. That lady gets a real workout!

I agree with post above, packages may sell out quicker than normal because of Osbourne lights.

If you have any recent CDs of WDW theme music, say last 10 yrs, you may recognize some of the voices from the castmembers. Not 100% sure but I think the Voices of Liberty chorus is part of the show as well. Its a beautiful show about the true story of Christmas. I am so glad that Disney is willing to do this show and not steer clear of the true meaning of why we celebrate Christmas.
