I think the ones in the can taste pretty good, but I agree that the home cooked ones are better. I like them a little crunchy and the ones in the can are usually soft.kayeandjim00 said:I think that you have to be from the south to love them. Now that I'm far from home when I bring them home and have others try them I've yet to have someone like them.
: Oh well more for me! I think they are wonderful. They are best when they are homemade like Angela mentioned but I'll settle for cans now as that's the easy way to get them home. They are so yummy but I think it's the consistency that throws people off. I remember my mom making a huge pot of them and eating them the second that they were ready and they were nice and warm.

In addition, if boiled peanuts are peanuts boiled in water with salt, what is peanut butter?
It boiled peanuts like peanut butter?
Can you put boiled peanuts on bread?
I am soo unconfused:

They're not like peanut butter and you don't put them on bread. They are eaten like a regular peanut in the shell. The difference is that after boiling the shell and peanuts are softer. I prefer the taste of a boiled peanut to a regular peanut, but it's hard to describe the taste. Mostly they are cooked in salt and water, but (particularly in Louisiana) people like to add crab boil and/or Tony Chachere's seasoning to make them spicy.
