so let me get this straight, it is Bush's fault that we were attacked 9 months into his term, but it will also be his fault if we are attacked up to 6 months after his term? Do I have that right? What is the line of demarkation, or is it simply going to be his fault regardless?

My guess is that everything bad that happens for the rest of history will somehow be President Bush's fault.

WOW - I really feel the opposite - it is the right on this board that is despicable, mud slinging, hateful and nasty. They start threads about Michelle Obama, talk about how Obama is not an American, that his people are hacking Palin's emails, that Obama is not patriotic since he doesn't wear a flag pin, say his supporters will riot. There are a handful of posters that post the most vicious rumors on a daily basis.

I have not seen the same from the left.

Look, I don't like either of them, and am an Indepedent as far as voting is concerned, so I don't have a dog in this Republican vs. Democrat thing, but both sides are equally as nasty.

My opinion is that I think that she can handle herself if she needs to, just like I thought Senator Clinton could have handled herself.

I prefer not to think of myself on a "side", but if the person I plan to vote for loses I will begin looking at how to rearrange my financial status to try to protect my money...it probably will not work, so I will also have to look at how to begin to adjust my lifestyle to take the huge hit in taxes and fuel price increases.

If my candidate loses, I'll first say a huge prayer that our new President can protect our country better than I expect that he will. I will certainly feel less safe, but I will try to put it out of my mind.

We will also start taking any legal measures that we can to bring our taxable income down. Fortunately, my husband's business can be "adjusted" if necessary, so we'll likely downsize it a bit, so that we can get our taxable income in a lower range. Unfortunately, that means that it will be necessary to lay off one or possibly two of his employees for us to do that.

Well, that leaves her campaign staff. They certainly know she's a dope. Why else would they keep her away from the press? This is probably unprecedented. A VP candidate who does not take questions.

I totally agree. I think that was why it happened last time. I think they'll test again. Sort of a "Let's see what you're made of" kind of thing. For just a brief time we came together after 9/11. And look at us now.
Hey, we can't even stop bank robbers, what makes us think we can totally stop terrorists? If they could be stopped I think Israel would have stopped them by now.

If my candidate loses, I'll hope for the best and pray for the leaders. It'll be hard for whoever wins. It's been hard for GWB.

Personally, I think this is the way it will go and is foretold. We do not know the details but as it unfolds, we can see the hows and the whys much clearer. There is not promise to this country for it to stay strong. Too often we think we are the center of the world but I think we've got ourselves fooled.

We actually took these types of steps after the 2006 Congressional elections.

As a Republican, I will support the President because I think anyone in that office deserves respect even if I disagree with them. I will continue to fight for what I believe and work to get candidates whose views I support into office.

I know many Democrats hate George Bush, but you have to understand that many Republicans felt the same way about Bill Clinton. I didn't agree with much of what President Clinton stood for, but I respected him because my fellow countryman chose him to be the leader of our country. I will do the same if Barack Obama is elected.

Our country was set up with checks and balances for a reason. I don't believe that any side will ever have too much power. That's what makes America great, and why I consider myself an American first and a Republican second.

I have immense faith in our democracy, particularly in the collision of ideas which happens in every election. I believe with every fiber of my being that we will be better with an Obama administration, but as an American I will accept the will of the people.

I will spend all the energy I can up to the election trying to make sure an Obama administration becomes a reality. I will be disappointed if it doesn't, but if it doesn't, we will all live to fight another day.

Like other posters, I will pray for John McCain's health if he is elected president. While I have immense respect for my Governor and former mayor, she is not ready to lead the free world.

I gotta agree. It isn't showing respect for Palin at all. I have read some of your thoughts about her and while I have read some respectful insites, the sig says a lot about your "respect" for her. Again, JMo, observation and because I would never, ever have anything in my sig that said something that negative (namecalling, I guess) about Obama, Clinton, Biden etc.
