I'm voting for McCain, but if he loses the election I still will have respect for the office. Being the President I think is one of the hardest jobs in this world. I'm very grateful that we live in a nation where there is a smooth transition of governmental power. Whoever wins in Nov. needs our people's prayers because there are some major issues that need wisdom to be dealt with effectively.

If McCain wins, I'll hope for the best. I respected the man's values when he was a senator and not a candidate and hope that he reverts back to that.

Either way, I hope that Republicans and Democrats will work together more and find a middle ground. I live in a state that has a Democratic governor and a Republican lieutenant governor. Hopefully, both parties can realize that the majority of the US is not at the far right and far left but somewhere in the middle.

I'd do what I've done when disappointed the last two Presidential elections, I'd wake up on Wednesday, kiss my wife and daughters, fix everyone breakfast, go into work and keep on chasing that green.

Even with the poor excuse for a president that we've had over the last 7+ years, America's given my family so much to be thankful for. As far as I'm concerned, there's still no other place in the world that I'd rather live.

Have only read a couple of the pages here but wanted to add a piece on very bitter election of 1800 (Adams, the Federalist VS JEfferson, the Dem-Rep.) to show what I believe Americans will do on Nov. 5:

As for the "truly rabid left wing that supports Obama," I might mention any of a number of "right wing" types with guns who have also been unhappy over elections and shot the opposition (and leftists who've done this too). No party has a monopoly on bad or good behavior.

I will as another poster get up the next morning, Go to work and my day won't change that much. I will look to protect some of my income from the 2010 Obama tax increase by increasing my 401 K, I don't expect much change from today as Health Care won't change since most democratic Congressman and Senators have been getting campaign donations from the Healthcare industry. Oil costs will go up as Obama will reconsider and not drill and the private sector has not embraced the Obama Energy Policy due to the Oil Windfall Profits Tax, it is now a 25 year program. Mortgage rates will rise as inflation begins with all the additional spending from the federal government. Iran is threating it's neighbors in the Mideast, We can not get agreement from China, Russia, or India on what diplomatic actions we should take. China and India are dependant on Iranian Oil. Russia seeing that the price increases effects its abilty to rearm. We can't uses or bases in Saudi Arabia since the US tried to put tarriffs on Mideast Oil since President Obama felt that this was like placing a windfall profit tax on the Oil Companies. Having a little trouble sleeping at night

WOW - I really feel the opposite - it is the right on this board that is despicable, mud slinging, hateful and nasty. They start threads about Michelle Obama, talk about how Obama is not an American, that his people are hacking Palin's emails, that Obama is not patriotic since he doesn't wear a flag pin, say his supporters will riot. There are a handful of posters that post the most vicious rumors on a daily basis.

Honestly, I'm already budgeting for the extra $$$ that would come out of my paycheck if the Bush taxcuts aren't made permanent. I'd also be very nervous about coming to work for a while. I work about 3 blocks from the White House and I firmly believe that we will be attacked again in the first 6-12 months of an Obama presidency.

You know I say this all the time and people look at me like I am nuts, but I do think there will be a "test" of the new President.
