I've looked through the other scooter threads but didn't see an answer to this. I'm supposed to leave tomorrow for our Disneyland trip. Yay! But...

I pulled a muscle in my leg a month or so ago and it's better but not 100%. I'm fine for day to day walking but I'm not sure if I'll be able to walk around the park all day for 4 days. I'm hoping to try the first day and only get a scooter if necessary. Does anyone know which scooter companies might have same-day availability? I've seen good reviews for D&R but would have to just go with anyone who could get me one quickly if needed. It's possible my leg will be just fine but I want to be prepared just in case.

General scooter questions:

Should I get a 3 or 4 wheel one? I've never driven one before and am pretty nervous about it! I'm also worried it will make the trip less fun. But I've had to cancel this trip twice since November and am determined to go lol.

I'm staying at Disneyland Hotel and wondering if I can take a scooter on the Monorail.

Thanks for any input!

Call Select Mobility Scooter at 714-644-8057. They are great and very close to the resort. I am sure they could deliver asap.

Yes you can take the scooter on the monorail. They have an elevator to get up to the platform and then they have a ramp so yoiu can drive onto the monorail. Honestly though it's faster to just go through DTD and enter the park at the front gates.

I use a scooter on every trip so I can try and answer any questions you may have.

We used D&R when we visited DL. They did have same day availability (which I’m pretty sure is always the case unless crazy DL and Convention crowds collide). The great thing is their location. You can walk right over, they have the scooters right there, and they were very pleasant to work with.

Even if you are fine making it through that first day, the risk is aggravating the injury and maybe flares up for the rest of the trip. I’d probably pay close attention and at the first signs of trouble go get the scooter.

The 3 wheel one is easier to navigate, but there’s not a huge difference. I think people with more severe coordination/balance issues are better suited with 4 wheels.
