WOW - I really feel the opposite - it is the right on this board that is despicable, mud slinging, hateful and nasty. They start threads about Michelle Obama, talk about how Obama is not an American, that his people are hacking Palin's emails, that Obama is not patriotic since he doesn't wear a flag pin, say his supporters will riot. There are a handful of posters that post the most vicious rumors on a daily basis.

You didn't see those posts (there are many of them)?? Please point to something as mean spirited by any conservative...

It has been confirmed that someone has hacked into Governor Palin's private e-mail. My best guess is the Republicans didn't do it. Who does that leave? Hmmmmmmm.

Um.. well that leaves more than half the population of America including the NOT democrat or Obama affiliated hacker group who actually did it, Anonymous. Look them up and you'll find their attacks are random at best, and focused on a dizzying variety of victims from Hip Hop websites to epilepsy forums and random peoples pages on social networking sites. As I stated on the other thread... not exactly a liberal agenda they are pushing. Big shock, they chose to attack a high profile person, with a publicly documented easily hackable email to garner publicity for themselves. Same as when similiar groups affiliated with anonymous hack Paris Hiltons cell phone, and I don't think she's ever been mistaken for a conservative.

I believe the biggest failure of John McCain so far in this campaign has been putting Sarah Palin as his running mate. It is a great thing for the State of Alaska--just at a time when our government pork is running out because our U.S. Senator is under indictment. It is McCain Failin(g), Alaska First. The signature line sums it up.

My signature is not meant to convey disrespect for Sarah Palin. On a personal level and as a local leader (with a population of 640,000 we are essentially a small city) she has done wonders. She is nowhere near ready for this level of responsibility.

A few short years ago, Sarah Palin was my neighbor, shopping at the same grocery store as I do and attending our monthly chamber of commerce meeting. Her leadership for the state has been rocky, but a heck of a lot better than her predecessor, but as I've pointed out the bar was pretty low (with our legislators being indicted and sent to Federal Prison, our Congressman under federal investigation, our former governor's chief of staff a convicted felon, etc. etc.).

On a philosophical note, I would encourage you to re-read the Federalist Papers, particularly article #10 by James Madison. The founders had immense respect for the collission of ideas and the idea of pluralist political thought. While this election is contentious, I think they would be proud.

Nothing will happen right away. However, if we push our agenda on more and more countries, if we lose women's rights, if we lose more of our personal freedoms, yeah I might move because this will cease to be the America I know and love.

Reeddi, I agree with you, but it's not even just our pushing our agenda on more and more countries, because frankly we've already done that, and as someone who travel's Internationally, we aren't exactly fawned over. Most people thing I'm Canadian, I go with that when they ask. Otherwise, I get a variety of reactions.

It's what is pushed upon the American people, and how much? How much of a theocracy will we become? Women's rights? It's a serious issue. Time will tell, but I can guarantee I have no problem sending my kids abroad for college. They've also traveled, they are well rounded, and they can become more so. It helps we have friends in various countries. We've always placed value on International travel, and obviously will continue with that.

Indeed they would. They planned that politics should be contentious, messy, long and never easy. A consensus easily or quickly reached is a bad consensus.

I'm not sure what they'd think about lipstick wearing pigs/pit bulls as a main argument. Personally, I think Franklin would have loved it.

I could care less who wins potus to be truthfully honest. My faith and trust is in God, not Mccain or Obama.

For those who plan to leave the country if their side doesn't win, what are you going to do when you encounter a problem in the country you move to? Are you going to keep uprooting your family every time something doesn't go your way?

If the Dems lose again, I'll do the same thing I've been doing for the past 8 years: when people complain about how bad it's getting, I'll remind them of who they voted for, how they could have changed it when they had the chance, and at least they're safe from the wolves now even if they don't have a house, job or health care.

Then I'll get back to work on making my life better and hope things will change for everyone else in 2012.

If my candidate loses, I'll first say a huge prayer that our new President can protect our country better than I expect that he will. I will certainly feel less safe, but I will try to put it out of my mind.

We will also start taking any legal measures that we can to bring our taxable income down. Fortunately, my husband's business can be "adjusted" if necessary, so we'll likely downsize it a bit, so that we can get our taxable income in a lower range. Unfortunately, that means that it will be necessary to lay off one or possibly two of his employees for us to do that.

How silly...

As a fellow business owner, I suggest before your husband do anything drastic, like purposely shooting himself in the foot by cutting a profitable sales/manufacturing force and torpedoing future sales, he might want to get a new business accountant, if you all even have one. There are numerous legal measures that you, as a small business owner, can take to limit your company's tax burden. Quite frankly, I've never read anything so self-destructive...

....I might add that my suggestion does not at all put to bed the theory that you just might be throwing a little smack out there to frighten the DISboards hourly labor set with hints of "layoffs" with no real plan on following through with such reckless business behavior. Just sayin'...
