Help!

I've got 27 more days until my husband and I leave on vacation, which includes 7 days at Disney (Sept 11-18). It's been a _long_ time since my last vacation, and I'm going pretty insane with the waiting.

I was doing alright for the last few weeks, probably because there was a lot of planning to do and PS to arrange. But now I've finished all the planning I'd intended to do, and I'm back to going crazy with waiting.

I've got lodging (Boardwalk) and tickets, reservations for Cirque and Keys to the Kingdom, PS for all the restaurants you're able to, and a plan for what parks to hit each day and how to each of them and the restaurants.

So what's left to plan?! I really didn't want to go as far as what rides to hit and when because I want this to be a relaxed and flexible vacation..... but maybe it'd be a fun exercise at least?

What else do you plan? How do you deal with the pre-trip anxiety?

Thanks!

Have you made a packing checklist? Once you have that you can make a shopping list of things you need to buy before the trip. Then you go shopping. :D

What about your transportation? If you're driving, do you have your maps and triptik (for AAA members). If flying, are you renting a car or using a shuttle service/towncar? You should have the reservations made.

It is hard when you get down to about a month to go because the bulk of stuff is done. I start watching a Disney movie a day from about the 40 day out countdown. Helps ease the anxiety.

Most of all, keep coming here to visit and pick up hints and tips!

I can SOOOOOO Relate. I'm a planner. I love it. Maybe even more than actually taking the vacation... hmmmmm no I really like the vacation but it is close!!:)
I would play with planning out the attractions even though you are going to be flexible . You don't have to really use it but you could kind of plan which ones you don't want to miss, the ones you could take or leave and the ones you know you will be passing by.

Have you done your packing list? I start throwing things in my bag s way ahead of time but when it gets closer I start to organize.

Have you gotten all those little extras and necessities that you should take on your vacation?

I'm sure more people will come along with more ideas. Until then.... Hang out on the DISboards. They are always helpful and you are with others who undersatnd what you are going through!!!!::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

Now you can go back and read every possible post here on the DIS;) . Actually when we are in the final few days before our trips and every last little thing is done. I've been known to do just that.

Since youre in the mood to think... What is your plan for each day/ park if it is raining that day? Not trying to jinx your trip or anything, just offering something to think about:cool:

You can always look at the menus of the restaurants and daydream about what you'll be eating and how good it'll be.

If you're all done planning, start packing and mark it off your packing checklist. That way, you won't be in a rush when the time comes. Got your quarters for laundry or pressed pennies?

Oh my God, I can SO relate!!

In exactly four weeks from now I'll be sitting on my connecting flight from Charlotte on my way to Orlando, just about an hour from scheduled landing time. And I'm SO excited!!!

I've got the hotel, transportation, pet-sitting, PS's, Cirque ticket, KTTK booking.... EVERYTHING all taken care of. And now I'm going crazy!!!

I too am a nut for planning... and research... so now, since I've got no planning left, I'm filling my time with researching history/fun facts/stories about the parks. :)

Oh... and I'm, you know, getting work done while I'm here at work too. ;)

Can't wait to be there!!!

:cutie: Ali

We're 35 days out...and DH and I *have* planned every single second of every park day!! Of course, it won't happen exactly that way (and we'll replan another 35 times, at least!), but it passes the time...

We are watching the planning video religiously, and we made a special CD of all our favorite Disney songs to listen to in the car. Otherwise, we're just waiting! I will begin my packing list this week. Fortunately, we are somewhat busy between now and the trip...but the days are sure seeming long now!
