What do you give your kids for Valentine's Day??

I bought my son the Zelda game for the Wii and my daughter the BuildABear game for the Wii. They will each get a small box of Godiva.

My son's Valentine present to us is that he will take care of his sister so that Dh and I can go to dinner at the Melting Pot and go see a movie. His sister will make us a card and DH will probably get me some pretty earrings and a medium box of Godiva.

My daughter is getting a Taylor Swift CD and a webkinz.. the glitter pink fish... she will also get candy..

The last few years its been Build a bear

My DH always gets the girls a single pink rose. He wants the standard of how men should treat them set high. I always get them their favorite candy and we cook a nice meal together for daddy.

I want to know where Kate got those valentine bags she hung on the chairs on the tv show Jon & Kate plus 8. Those bags were cute!

They are from Pottery Barn. They sold them at their stores last year. This year (since they were shown on the show) they were going for over $150 on ebay!

Growing up as a kid my Dad would always go out and get all of his girls a heart filled with candy and a card. It was so special because my mom was the one who did everything...birthdays, Christmas, etc. Valentine's Day was the one day my Dad would go out and pick out something for us all by himself. He even filled out the cards...I could see it now - the bottom would always say.."Love, Daddy". sniff sniff....

My kids will get a small box of chocolates and either a DVD they can share or 1 video game they can share. I will also bake a heart shaped cake for dessert. DH already said we will order chinese take-out, spread a sheet on the den floor, watch the new movie they got and just hang out as a family. Sounds great to me:)

I usually get them a small token gift and some candy. This year it will be a book for each.

I am doing a bag of candy, kisses for one, dove for the older one. You get a lot more candy for less money than the boxed candy. I will probably give my 11 yo dd an IOU for the HSM3 dvd coming out on 2/17 and get my 4 yo dd Madagascar 2.
When my dh and I were dating, he gave me Aladdin one year for Vday and I have continued that tradition with our dds.

Mine are getting a webkinz and candy

I get my DD10 a new nightgown every year for Valentines Day, plus maybe a small stuffed animal or small treat of some kind. She's not really into alot of candy.

For Easter every year she gets a new swimsuit in her Easter Basket, along with some other stuff.

I'm going to make heart shaped pretzels from scratch. I think we will cook a nice steak dinner that night. That's about it. We don't really celebrate it. Besides, my birthday is 8 days later. This year it's right before Mardi Gras. :thumbsup2

I will make each kid a card, make oreo bon-bon's and sneak into their lunches as a surprise, and we will have a nice steak dinner. DS can no longer have red food dye so I can't do the traditional candy's and I can make a huge batch of oreo bon-bons for the cost of boxed chocolates.

Oreo Bon-Bons you say? Do tell how to make those please???? MMMmmmmm!

Presents? Wow my children each are given a small box of candy and a card:confused3 Most of the time DH and myself don't give each other anything other than a card.

Yikes - I'm in the minority here - I've never gotten my kids a thing! I never got anything growing up, and my boys have never mentioned that their friends get Valentine's Day gifts - so I just assumed that was the norm. I do bake a red velvet cake in a heart shaped pan that they look forward to decorating, and I send them off to school with their Valentines for the class party, but that's it! They come home with enough candy & trinkets from the school party, that I guess I figured they didn't need anything else from me!

I'll make sure they don't read this thread or they'll be expecting something this year!
You're not alone.

DD7 gets a bud vase of flowers (hot pink, orange roses & Gerber daisies this year) with a balloon (Hannah Montana - You Rock, Valentine this year) delivered to her school

Here is the oreo bon-bon reciepe. It is very easy.

1 pkg of oreos
1 8oz pkg of cream cheese
2 8 oz pkg of Bakers Semi Sweet Choc.

Crush 36 oreo cookies and mix with cream cheese
Crush remianing cookies and set aside to sprinkle on top
Roll cookie/cream cheese mixture into small balls
Melt choc.
Dip cookie/cream cheese balls into choc and sprinkle with remianing crushed cookies.
put in fridge to set up

I made these for Christmas this year and everyone loved them.

My boys get balloons and candy from mom - and DD gets flowers and treat from dad - DH and I make each other a card and go to dinner on the 19th as it is the anniversary of our first date and I prefer to celebrate that day :)

We do Valentine gifts, usually not anything big but something like a DVD or a Webkinz, etc. I think it is funny that people who dont feel a need to give their opinion on those that do and those that do could care less about those that dont! Just an observation!

one of the clubs at our school sellsdecorated cookies they deliver to the classes during their parties so I usually order each kid a cookie (they make sure every kid gets at least one in the elem. grades)

when I was a kid my parents always got my brothers and I a heart shaped box of chocolates the day AFTER Valentines day my mom is where I learned my love of half price shopping I guess
