Booked POP from Aug 20 - 27 2011 with the upgraded Free Dining. For $1881 for the 4 of us! Can't wait!!

We would have booked May but the week we wanted (21 - 28)did not have FD. FD didn't go in effect until the 27th. (not sure why, cause isn't is very busy Memorial Day weekend? Why offer FD that week??

I was booked at Ft. Wilderness for 11/9 - 11/16 in the cabins. My initial cost was $2559.41 and with AAA it came down to $2175.53.
With the new discounts today, I called, waited 13 minutes and they changed it for me. With new discount, my new total is $1791.58 so it is a total savings of $767.83.
We already have tickets so I did not want free dining. That savings will buy a lot of food for us. Very excited....

Have Oct for 2 weeks 8th > 22nd {poly mkv} and had a bounce back rate = the exact the same with the discount. So we are still booked with bounceback but it was a great rate and surprised they are giving out the same with a public code. Waiting for ap rates to compare.

Would have preferred free dining, but dates didn't match, so went with 25% off at AKL - now my savannah view costs as much as a standard view! Saved over $428 on a 4 night reservation - more than the cost of a single night. This was a huge splurge for us, and I thought the discounts had passed us by - so excited to see this today.
Right after I modified my reservation I called my friend who is traveling with us and she was able to get the discount as well!

I love the DIS! Would not have known about this otherwise!!!!

I just posted this on a different thread, but it seemed to fit here, too.

Well, here's how I made out after holding from 7:00-8:15 this morning...

We already had tickets, so any package deal was out. We were also already booked at AKL for Feb. 9-13. I was bummed that they were only offering a 25% discount and not the 40%. We considered switching to the Poly, but my DH really had his heart set on returning to AKL.

So...
Our original booking was at $265 (weekday) and $275 (weekend).

Then we added a AAA discount and it became $225.25 (weekday) and $233.75 (weekend).

Today it changed to $198.75 (weekday) and $206.25 (weekend).

It wasn't the savings I had hoped for, but I guess it's better than nothing, right? I suppose I'm just spoiled since we scored a 40% discount last year for AKL. I am still regreting not taking the opportunity to switch to the the Poly though since we have a chance now to afford it. Will someone please tell me I made a great decision and to get over it!

I think about all the poor people who don't have the DIS and never find out about these specials Aren't we lucky!!!

We have the Poly booked for 8/25-9/03..called today to add free dining We have 8 day PH tickets and there are 5 of us (4 are considered adults) Our total is $5500. We saved about $1700. Now I am still waiting for the confirmation email of the change to my original booking...still nothing. I called this morning. I am hoping nothing got screwed up .

Couldn't believe that saved us around $1000!!!!! Calculated all three deals (free dine, giftcard, and room discount) and thought free dining was the best deal around $734 savings. Travel agent booked for us and saved us a ton more with discount.

Food if you are not on the dining plan, tips if you are. I am thinking of using it to buy tickets for MVMCP if I can't get the room discount. My boys want to get made over as pirates. If I stick with the gift card, I will need to bring basically no cash on this vacation.

I was relieved that I was patient and didn't go ahead and book a AAA discount when the 2011 rates first came out. It made a lot of diffference being able to go online right at 7am and just book a new reservation instead of having to sit on hold waiting to change an existing reservation. There were a lot of people on hold for over an hour, where I had my reservation done in ten minutes start to finish. It can be a gamble sometimes - but this time I feel it really paid off.

I went on line, too, to find out what the discounts were, and was surprised to see that they allowed on-line booking with a code. So, after finding out that the telephone wait was more than 1/2 hour, I just booked it on line in less than 2 minutes. Very easy. The only thing I couldn't do was add my requests for room location, so I'll have to call back another time to do that.

I saved $370 for room only at Port Orleans. I'm happy!!

We went with the gift card because we'll be a AKL CL. AKL CL + Free Dining= Too Much Food for us.

The gc will pay for the Sunrise Safari, and any food we eat in the parks. Plus, I don't have deal with scheduling ADRs. We can wing it every day except for Thursday, when we have to use our park ticket for AK.

We saved nearly $300 with the gc deal, so I'm content.

Only weird thing was when CM asked what we were celebrating and my Sig O said her doctorate, he went on a tirade about what a waste and racket education was. It was very odd. Probably was kicked out of school.
