WHat did you find with the military discount?

I just booked AKL Savannah view bunk bed room for two nights June 6-8 for $526.50 total with the 40% off military discount. I am sooooo excited!!! We wanted concierge level AKL standard room, and it was not available for our dates, but the CM said keep trying back.

Does retired DOD qualify for the reduced rate? Do with parents in Dec and dad is retired DOD- trying to find best hotel for cheapest rate

No, it is for active and retired military.

Is this an always discount or something speciall they are running right now? DH myself and DD are thinking about a trip in 2010 which would include DH's family. DH's brother is active Navy (almost 19 yrs in) and I am just curious! Thanks!

I had mentioned to the reservationist do we need to bring DD214 and she said no clue what that is all you have to show is a valid military ID. Don't all the ID's pretty much look alike? The only difference is my hubby's is blue where mine is a tanish color.

The older ID's look like that. The newer ones, which I believe all the Active Duty personnel should have by now, is usually white with your services emblem and a microchip embedded in the card.

I have a quick question. My dad is retired military. My mom and I will be going to disney this summer. Can she use her id card to get the discount or does my dad have to be there?

Just booked Wilderness Lodge standard room for 7/11-7/18 for $1375.00. When I put in the info on the WDW site, it came up to $2284. We are saving about $900 on the room, and about $400 on the tickets! Woohoo....that's my kind of deal. I think we will skip the dinning plan this year, and do mostly quick service. Now we just have to find a good rate for airfare.
