What CROCS did for me!!

Hi tzuhouse - I think it has more to do with the traffic than the mileage! That 20 miles is toward the city and would take me AT LEAST 40 minutes to drive each way. (and public transportation isn't even available). An hour and 20 minutes of driving to try on a pair of shoes seems a little excessive to me! :)

Thank you Miss Park Avenue and eeyore45 - I'll try calling around. It looks like Marshall Fields is part of May, so that is a possibility. I can also try calling Galyans and Gander Mountain which are "outdoorsy" places...

Thanks,
pdarrah

Make a day of it on Sunday or Saturday--TRUST me your feet will thank you!! And, think of it this way, once you have tried them on--you will know what size you wear and can then order on line--Have lunch, go shopping--make your own perfume--invite a girlfriend and buy Crocs and then have lunch...OOHHH go get a pedicure!!! Early Mothers day!!! Whatever you do,Just go get the SHOES!!!

OH good grief--where is my commission here...Anybody??? :confused3 :rotfl:

My CROCS came in! I'm very pleased. I was a little nervous because I have narrow feet, but with the strap my feet feel pretty secure. I'm ready to order different colors now. My daughter wants some, too. If the company ever goes public, I'm buying stock!

I decided to order a pair of Caymans from comfortableshoes.com...they're cheaper, although limited in colors and sizes, in addition to the ones I ordered directly from the Crocs.com site. The crocs site is taking an awfully long time to send them, and it looks like i'm only getting one of the two pairs i ordered. I guess i'll have to return a pair to someone....or maybe not...LOL.

I wore my new crocs for the first time yesterday.

My kids are now wanting them also!

DD6 has decided she wants a pair in red (luckily they sell them in her size).

DS10 wants a pair of khaki to wear for sailing lessons this summer and to the pool. He told me that one of the girls in his class has some and her mom (who is a hair dresser) sells them. I am going to have to check this out!

I could be starting something here.

(warning, partially off topic, partially soapbox rant)

I'd like you to think twice about this. I feel pretty strongly that it is wrong to go to a retail store to try on an item that you plan to buy online, NOT in that store. I think this is taking advantage of the store. If the item is priced higher in the store, that is because they have more overhead than an internet store. And this overhead is precisely what allows you to try on the shoes.

I buy as much as I can online. I like the prices and usually don't need the sort of customer service that you pay for in a retail store. But if we're talking about something I need to try on or try out, I make every effort to buy where I try. Just my personal code of ethics.

Did anyone in NE Ohio manage to find them in any stores? We have Kaufmans and Dillards, so I will try there tomorrow. I really want these shoes! Finally something comfortable that doesn't cost $50+!

I'm REALLY interested in the new styles coming out in April.

Thanks everyone!

I saw the black and navy beach models are on the Dillards site. Look under mens shoes. I am looking for kids as well. Do you think they will come out with the closed toe style for kids or more fun colors for adults. I would love to get some for our trip next Dec for London (lots of walking) but it will be too cold for the holes.

I ordered directly from the Crocs site on 03/07/05. I got an email that day indicating that my order had been received. I then got an email dated 03/10 indicating that my shoes were shipped on 03/07/05 via Fed Ex Express. Haven't received anything yet... :confused3 Also, when I check my account at Crocs.com, the status reads "pending fullfillment". So far I've sent an email to Customer Service (haven't heard back), and today I called them directly. I got someone's voicemail that said orders placed within the last 15 days are still being filled in the order in which they were received.
I guess they're so busy right now that they're having trouble getting the orders out.
I just want my shoes!!

Funny that I just ran across this thread, when I purchased a few pairs last week. (One was backordered, so I'm dealing with that.) I also have plantar fascitis (sp?) so I'm hoping they help. I do think they are a bit on the weird looking side, but am willing to sacrifice for comfort.

Now if only they made a dress shoe...

If you are going to Kaufmanns, make sure it's a bigger one. The little one by my didn't have the crocs but they were at the Mall of Robinson by Pittsburgh.

Did the email you received on 03/10 include a Fed Ex tracking number? If not, you may have received the same confusing email message I got from Crocs.

I also ordered directly from the Crocs site, on March 20th. I got the same two messages you did. The second message stated "ship via Fed Ex" which made me think "Great! My order has been shipped!" but the tracking number field was blank. Before I had time to contact them about that, I got another message stating the item I ordered was backordered.

I got another message a few days later (March 23) stating my order has been fulfilled and listing the FedEx tracking number. It was at that point I looked back at the second message and realized that "ship via Fed Ex" is just displaying the shipping method -- it didn't mean the order had shipped.

So, take a look at that second message you got. If there is no tracking number, I think it's just an order confirmation notice, not a shipping notification. When your order actually ships, you should get a Fed Ex tracking number from Crocs.

Okay, you guys convinced me. I am sporting a pair of Hot Pink Cayman's.

DH can't stop laughing at me, and DS3 said---"Mommy! I like your pink shoes with lots of holes in them!"

I agree with LisaS. I ordered the shoes from the Crocs web site on March 5, and the email receipt shows "Ship Via Fed Ex Express Saver, Ship Date 3/5/2//5." The tracking area is blank. I sent an email to their customer service department this morning, asking what the status of the order was. I also suggested that they design their site in such a way, as to allow the customer to know if the shoes are available before placing the order. We're leaving for WDW a week from tomorrow, and was buying them specifically for the trip. I'll post if I hear anything from them. I still want the shoes, so I'm not calling to cancel the order, but it's frustrating to hear that everyone who ordered them from other web sites has their shoes already! :guilty:

I found them at Journey's shoe store in the mall today. They had black, navy blue, khaki, red and butter. I kind of liked the butter and the khaki, really liked the navy blue, but ended up buying the black. The only ones they had left in my size (M) were black and butter. Decided black would go with more stuff. They are pretty comfortable and will make a nice addition to my shoe wardrobe. Plus they are so light I won't have to worry about going over my 50 lb. limit on my luggage. :teeth: I think I am going to be going back to get my DH a pair. He kind of thought they would be comfortable also.

Oh, almost forgot....if your DD want a pair and you don't want to pay that much for a pair of "real" crocs, Payless has knockoffs in pink in kids sizes. I saw them in adult sizes online, but not the kids sizes. After I bought my CROCS today, I found the kid sizes for $12.99. I am going to get a pair for my 2 1/2 yr DD for her "water" shoes. They are the same type of foammy material as the CROCS and seemed as squishy as them also.

I got a pair tonight at Kaufmans in Rochester. They are the pink Caymens in size 9 (they have only 1 other pair of size 9 and it was in the black). They were on sale for 29.99 and there was a 10% off coupon in the paper so I got them for just under $30!!
They are very comfortable and my roommate wants a pair now too!

Wow, I have to share. I went to our Miami YouthFair today. 5 1/2 hours walking on hot, hard asphalt pushing DD in her stroller. For some reason I thought my foot was feeling better so hey lets try out the Tevas. I got Teva and Crocs at the same time and ended up taking Crocs to WDW last weekend so it was Tevas turn. OMG, my feet hurt tonight after just 5 hours about 3 or 4 times worse then they did after 3 days of WDW park walking in my Crocs. I am so much more a believer now. i may not wear anything else ever.

Hi Elaine,
We are in Rochester Too! And off to WDW on April 14. May I ask which Kaufmanns you found them at and do you remember if there were any larger sizes (10)? Also were there any kid sizes or small adults? Thanks.
