What CROCS did for me!!

I came home today to find out that FedEx tried to deliver mine today and since nobody was home, they took them back :sad2: .

I will fill out the form so they will leave them at my house tomorrow. :cool1:

I went to Scrubs and Beyond and also The Alpine Shop (a sporting goods store)

Well, they had them, but of course BOTH stores had only khacki and red. What are the odds?!? And both stores also only had large and XL. I figure I'll need a medium.

I was happy to see them in person and I'm going to try and go to Dillard's this week to see if they sell them.

BTW, does anyone live in St.Louis and have bought them?!

I went to a local dealer last night (Appalachian Outfitters) to check out the Crocs shoes. They only carry the Beach Crocs and the 8-9 was too small and the 10-11 was too big. The salesman asked me why I wanted those shoes and I told him that I heard they were comfortable shoes and wanted them for Walt Disney World. I told him that I wasn't sure the Beach Crocs was the style I wanted, but did want to try them on to see how they felt. He definitely was being very negative about them and said they were only meant for a beach shoe and that they weren't that comfortable and they were like a "clog" shoe and would not be the right shoe for WDW. He said I needed a shoe that gave me support. I told him that I have spent lots of money on "support" shoes for WDW and still get blisters....that I was game for something different. I told him that since he only carried the Beach style that I was really thinking about the next style up and wanted to try on a Crocs shoe before ordering them online. With that being said, he walked away from me but kept staring at me the whole time we were there. I did see some Treva sandals while I was there, but wasn't willing to try them on....2 reasons....I thought they were ugly (uglier than the Crocs! :teeth: ) and I didn't like the price tag of $90.

With everything being said, now I am confused on what to do! I go to WDW in June, August and December this year and was hoping to find a shoe that my feet will be comfortable in!

Get the Beach version from Zappos.com...they have the best(free) return policy if you don't like them. Just try them on indoors, on a carpeted surface...no company wants them back if they've been worn on an Appalachian Trail hike. Wear them around the house for a day or two, and if they don't work for you, simply print out a return label on their website, and send the puppies back...free of charge! Their shipping is super-quick, so you can test them out in plenty of time. If the style is the only thing you'd like to change, send them back, and order from Crocs.com. Their return policy doesn't include free return shipping, but by then, you should have figured out if you really can wear their shoes.

I normally wear a size 9 wide, I am glad I went and tried them on before buying online. I had to get a M 8-9. I was going to order a L, it was too big, swallowed my foot. I ended up buying them from the dtore in the mall. (29.99) Wore them all day, they are comfy. :flower: But, I still like my Tevas better. I will take both on my up coming trip. The nice thing about the Crocs is, it seems like they will dry very quickly.

Hey everyone, I cannot believe how this thread has taken on a life of its own lately. I just got finished catching up on all the croc news here!! Looking forward to the new shoes in April, I will be anxious to see how they have improved them.
I heard someone mention something about clear Crocs so that you can wear funky socks with them...how cool would that be!
Just want to say "you are so very welcome" to many here that have sent their thanks along for starting up this thread...I just hope we will have some really happy feet in WDW now and that this will be one less thing to worry about on vacation.
Now I just need to find a way to get back there.

Just bought "another" pair of crocs, but I am sending these back because they are the Emerald color and well, when I took them out I didn't really like the color at all...so I saw a white pair today and thought 1st..dirt, 2nd they clean so well! So I am going with the white for summer.

Thought for the day:
What to do with worn out Crocs?
They will make incredible garden shoes or pool shoes! Or bring the garden to the crocs and fill with dirt and watch the holes bloom :rotfl2: Okay it was a stretch...but you never know right :

More testimonies??

Dchef!

Well, here's another Thank You.
I got my Nile's in the mail yesterday. I couldn't believe how light the box was! Even tho it held 2 pairs of shoes, it felt empty....

I tried on my Niles, I did have to stretch the backstrap a bit like it said on the website. That worked perfectly & they are so comfy. I just can't get over how light, yet supportive these things are. DH has yet to try his Cayman's...

Guess who's going to be ordering a pair of Beachs & a pair of Metros for all weather wear? :cool1:

I will still be bringing my Tevas & Clarks. I am a sandal lover, what can I say?

Here's a list of places you can find them in Orlando. This is directly from the company rep, I emailed to see if there were any in Melbourne or Orlando (not on the website) and this is the list the rep sent:

In the area of Orlando you can find them at:

Fresh Produce: Universal Studio B1, Orlando FL
Bass Pro Shop: International Drive, Orlando
Ryans Hallmark, Hiawassee Rd, Orlando
Ryans Hallmark, Town Center Blvd, Orlando
Abby Hallmark, Conroy Rd, Orlando
Beyond Words, Edgewater Dr, Orlando

The cayman comes in pink, go on the comfortableshoes.com web site, they have them! They are 36.45 with shipping. :cool1: I wear a size 10 and thats what I ordered and they fit fine.

Thank you for the link! I've been following this thread and looking for the pink caymans or niles to wear to a race for the cure event I do every year with a bunch of my breast cancer sisters.(I passed along the link to them too!) I ordered a pair last night, I can't wait to get them! :Pinkbounc Now if they'd just come out with pink niles...

Has anyone received there Caymans from comfortableshoes.com? They are priced more like the Beach style so I'm a little concerned they won't actually be the Caymans and their more true sizing.

Mine came yesterday  (first ever use of dancing banana).

I am wearing my navy blue Caymans to work today (with my purple socks showing through).

They are quite comfortable, however, I am terribly concerned about all the money they are going to cost me buying new socks. I now have to make double sure that my socks match my outfit. Today's outfit was based on what went with the socks I had clean :rotfl: .

They are quite comfortable. I also tried on the Niles and they seem perfect.

I normally wear an 8 1/2 AA. I ordered the size 8 Cayman and the 8-9 Nile (FYI).

Good luck everyone, looks like I might have some new favorite shoes that I will have to order in some other colors.

What a great idea--because you know there aren't many comfortable pink shoes out there!! These will be perfect--and what a statement!

Well, I've been following this thread since it started and as I was shopping the other day at my local dept store (Kaufmanns) I was looking at all the pretty spring shoes trying to find styles that looked like the mega bucks ones in my latest "InStyle" magazine when I turned around and there were the crocs! I wish I could have seen my reaction because I just didn't expect to see them there. I found a pair on the table that was my size and tried them on. They were really comfy....But oh my goodness they are butt-ugly!!! I'm still debating. I don't have problem feet and I seem to do well in tennis shoes at the parks. I do want a sport, water proof sandal though as we are going in July

This discovery sent me on a quest to Dicks Sporting Goods and there were those Keen shoes that someone had posted a link to earlier. Now, I know I said I don't have problem feet but they are hard to fit, I have a high instep. And I loved the rugged outdoorsy look of the Keen sandal but I could not get my feet in them! I have the same problem with boots too. I was so embarrassed trying to shove my foot in them while the shoe salesman stood over me. :o I knew that if I could just get my foot in them they would feel fine. But I couldn't so I had to give them back. They were a LOT more expensive than the the crocs!!!!

Anyway, what I'm getting at is that I have an extremely high instep and anyone concerned about the "clog" style of the crocs would be interested to know that I could get them on with no problem.

I have just read through this whole thread! Definite problem feet here - mine are extremely flat and I wear orthotics every day in my ugly athletic shoes. The idea of an "open" shoe that I could wear has me thrilled! In the summer, I do wear sandels - but after a day or two I have to go back to my orthotics for a few days and I end up alternating my way through the summer. The "Nile" style has me really hoping I could wear these!

I am in the far Western suburbs of Chicago and the dealer list at the Crocs website doesn't show ANYTHING near me. The only Illinois dealer even in my area code is about 20 miles away! A number of folks on this thread have mentioned finding them at the mall, at department stores or sporting goods stores but most of the time no name is mentioned. Has anyone bought them at a national or midwest chain? I am practically in shopping heaven here - the number of malls, outlets and stores is rediculous - how can we not have any of these shoes in the area?

If I have to, I'll order them online (probably the "Nile" style) without trying them on - but it makes me very nervous since I ALWAYS have to try on shoes and seem to "fit" anywhere from a 5 1/2 to a 7.

Thanks for any help,

This just tickled me and I had to write. I just assumed Chicago was large. It's interesting to me that those who live in the outskirts or country think driving more than a few minutes somewhere is long. I live on the edge of the Houston City Limits. 20 miles is just down the road to us. I remember my Mom and I driving to Louisiana once, just to go to a collectible store there. HEE HEE I sincerely hope you have good luck ordering online and hope they are very comfy for you. I just laughed when I saw they were 20 miles away!

Have a magical day!
Mary

pdarrah, when I mentioned Kaufmanns, it is part of the May department stores. They go by different names all over the country. Maybe you can start there.

Hope this helps you

Pdarah, I'm up near Great America, and I looked at the website, and I called Dick's Sporting goods, they're getting a shipment in April. So I went to the mall, and viola, there they were in an outdoors type store!! So, I just saw that someone posted Bass Pro had them, REI had them, so perhaps, if you call a few stores, maybe you can find them!!

Good luck, my feet pronate, and I keep thinking I'm gonna get a blister, but 5 days of pretty much non stop wearing, no blister! (I try and go barefoot a lot!) :rotfl:

20 miles is just down the road to us.

Hi tzuhouse - I think it has more to do with the traffic than the mileage! That 20 miles is toward the city and would take me AT LEAST 40 minutes to drive each way. (and public transportation isn't even available). An hour and 20 minutes of driving to try on a pair of shoes seems a little excessive to me! :)

Thank you Miss Park Avenue and eeyore45 - I'll try calling around. It looks like Marshall Fields is part of May, so that is a possibility. I can also try calling Galyans and Gander Mountain which are "outdoorsy" places...

Thanks,
pdarrah
