What colour garland do you put on your tree

I grew up with silver garland and used it a few times when DD#1 was little. Then I quit using anything. Sometimes I'll put some gold or red little bows but usually it's lots of lights and ornaments.

This year it's monorail color:Just kidding. I don't have garland on this tree. On the "fancy" tree I have a garland that looks like frosted candies strung together. It has a kind of a candy theme.

I had red and gold garland on the tree last year. I'm thinking of changing it this year. The cats were kittens last Christmas and really messed them up.

I was tinsel-raised, married to a garland-raised man. So our trees had tinsel. Then one year we didn't get around to putting tinsel on the tree, and voila! We liked it better.

Same for us - my family was always tinsel, DH's was garland, but he convinced me to do silver garland on our trees. Lately we put up the tree and put the lights on it, but wait for DD to come home from college to put ornaments on. She is a senior this year so next year it will just be us decorating.

I don't use fluffy garland. I use cranberry looking bead type and also a red sparkly bead type garland and sometimes I'll add some silver. I've got a big selection of the bead type garland to choose from.

If I had my way, the only thing on the tree would be colored lights.

I don't bother with garland. I have some strands of pearls but I didn't put them up this year. The cat eats tinsel so no tinsel. Nothing worse than a cat with tinsel hanging out of his bum hole. Should you pull it or leave it be? I never want to have to make that decision
