What are your top ten all time favorite songs? (What does Rolling Stone Know?)

thanks for your lists! I love reading them! I wish more people would make them -- I guess I'm just nosy about what people would choose. I mean, I'd love to see Snoopy's (probably) 70's list!

I'm already re-thinking mine, so these aren't written in stone.....

This isn't easy but right off the top of my head:

1. Melt with You- Modern English
2. Landslide- Fleetwood Mac
3. Comfortably Numb- Pink Floyd
4. Sweet Child O'Mine- Guns N Roses
5. Canon in D- Pachbel
6. That's Amore- Dean Martin
7. Cowboy take me away- Dixie Chicks
8. The 2nd Start to the right- from Peter Pan
9. Can't help falling in love- Elvis
10.Annie's Song- John Denver

Ahhhhhh Melt with you is great!!!! When I think of that song I also think of Don't You (Forget about me) (Simple minds?) for some reason and I love that one too.

Wow! Hotel California is coming up alot! I should take a look if I get enough responses and see what song is mentioned the most! Thanks for these you guys I really enjoy them!

OK- this list is hardly set in stone, in no particular order, and it’s certainly eclectic, but you asked for it…

Gershwin – “Our Love Is Here To Stay”
Ashman and Menken- “Part of Your World”
Marvin Gaye- “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”
Tracy Chapman- “Revolution”
Violent Femmes- “Blister in the Sun”
Dolly Parton- “9 to 5”
10,000 Maniacs- “Trouble Me”
Kenny Loggins- “Danny’s Song”
Simon and Garfunkel- “America” or “Cecilia” (depending on my mood)
REM- "It’s The End Of The World As We Know It"

OMG! You are reading my mind! I am making potato soup and can't stop thinking about my own list.....I felt like I should have a REM song on there and It's the End of the World would be one of my favorites!

Beanie, have you ever seen Sarah Brightman live? I saw her do Phantom of the Opera and it was sooooooo great!

I really have to give you credit for that Concrete Blonde pick -- I love their cover of "Beware of Darkness" and I saw them perform in Philly at the Chestnut Street Cafe in 1985 or 86. Very cool!

I wish! I haven't seen Phantom of the Opera, but I do love the soundtrack so much! Someone on here said that Bloomingdales did their store windows with Phantom of the Opera this year...I would love to see that! :)
